What a racist and insensitive establishment, I am never going back there again!Never in my life have I experienced this level of racism and just blatant disregard of my rights as a paying customer. I was told to my face that I am no longer welcome here simply because I had a meeting with a work associate in their restaurant over tea ( which I paid for by the way.) So people looking to have meetings must book a board room. (Yes I was literally told this to my face.) Never mind the other party of 10 or so that had their "lunch meeting" in the same venue and at the same time as I did. This is unacceptable and honestly just rude. As a citizen of this country, I will never ever go back to this place again, let alone take a business associate. This is shameful, do better, please.

Blessed relief from the heat and hustle bustleIt being such an iconic and historic building I was keen to visit. After a very hot and stressful day it was such a welcome relief to sit in the courtyard and enjoy a couple of g&ts from the beautiful old bar. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and drinks were surprisingly cheap. Dont be put off if it appears closed from the outside; ring the bell at the gate and it will open.

Historical and eccentricInteresting though rather strange experience. Not a lot has changed inside which makes it a fascinating place to stay. But I saw very few guests and it was just me in the grand dining room! Breakfast was good but my dinner both nights was poor. Although the bed was comfortable, my room was very basic and in need of some TLC, especially the old bathroom with a shower attachment in the bath which only dribbled water. Location is fantastic in the heart of the city and the staff are lovely and friendly. So if youre after an interesting experience and great location, this is a good option but dont have high expectations on the standard as its best days are long gone.

fantastic old building, great staff, great valueEnjoyed the snooker room. Food was ok (kitchen can be slow I guess).. Service very pleasant. There wasn't too much hot water. But I highly recommend this place. Value for money!!! My group enjoyed every minute there.

Unforgettable GemWhere ever you go in the world you will never find such an elegant experience for such a bargain price. We had Oxtail for dinner and it was superb. A couple of things need som patience like drawing a bath but the overall grandeur and history of everything around you will more than compensate. The staff are so helpful and welcoming, you feel so comfortable.
