  Anniversary meal

  My husband and I had our anniversary meal at the hotel the rump steak was cooked perfectly I had the special menu which was a curry it was also excellent the restaurant is very nice the staff all super efficient and helpful

  Lovely hotel

  This was my second stay and it was just as great as the first. The room was lovely and I was very impressed with the decor in the bathroom. The bar and wearing area is nice and comfortable and the outside seating area is nice and quiet I enjoyed the veggie breakfast in the morning and the coffee was lovely too. I would just say I thought the bar prices were a tad high (standard I suppose for hotels?!) I didn't eat during the day but other guests had commented that the food was good. Would recommend!

  Very welcoming and great service

  Lovely, welcoming atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff in a central location. Good food and comfy clean accommodation. Very dog friendly. Bar with woodburning stove and easy chairs. Decor is traditional with modern touches.Highly recommended.

  Could have been great.....

  Was very much looking forward to a luxury stay and meeting up with friends for dinner. The room on top floor looked amazing, very luxurious and a fabulous bathroom!!! Meal with friends was good. Bath was huge!!!!! Was woken by wind whistling in through the windows and the draft. Secondary glazing doesnt do enough to stop it. I also had no idea I'd hear lorries constantly from the early hours, especially on the top floor. Could even hear car radios. Gave up trying to sleep at 5. Thought I'd have a bath, but no hot water. Tried to watch tv. It only seemed to have bbc1. I had thought at that price for a room there would be the full sky package. The tv couldn't hold a signal long enough to watch anything. Breakfast was really good. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the staff were great. When I raised my concerns about the accomadation, I was immediately offered a very reduced rate, which I gladly accepted. This place has so much promise, if a few things were put right.

  Exceptionally good food at a very reasonable price.

  A cosy and welcoming place, staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional (we had the 12-hour roast turkey, delicious!), and I was happy with the very reasonable prices. Will definitely come back next time we are in the area.
