  Perfect for touring

  I used the hotel as a stopover on my motorbike tour of Scotland. The hotel was recommended through the biking press. Covid-19 restrictions were in force and the hotel dealt with it very well. In fact, the hotel was only open to residents, so this improved the safety and environment for those staying. Check in was thorough but most welcoming especially for those on bikes. This hotel caters very well for bikers. Room was okay, nothing special and a little dated but more than adequate for a solo traveller. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and highly recommended as was breakfast the next day. This is a great hotel for touring, especially if you are on a motorcycle with secure bike parking at the rear of the hotel.

  Great family run hotel with lovely food

  Great family run hotel with really good food, we had the Zimbambwean Boboti which was the best I have had (in and out of Africa!) Like all hotels in Moffat it is on the high street so does not have a private car park but it is a very safe area.

  Holiday

  Arrived in September for 6 days. Had a fabulous time. Food was fantastic. Staff were so obliging, couldn't do enough for us. Dave gave us several routes to ride our bike. Had a great time. We have booked for next year already. Thank you Lara for the Bobotie recipe. We tried it tonight not quite presented as you did.

  Always a pleasure

  We always try to stay here when we're in Scotland and this time it was as good as ever. The family can't do enough to make the stay comfortable. Rooms are comfortable, clean and the COVID arrangements make you feel safe. Can't recommend it strongly enough.

  Top notch!

  If you're in this area you have to stay here - there's nowhere better! Stayed several times and just love it! The friendly welcome and service throughout our stay was second to none - absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is clean and well kept and our room was lovely and spacious. Food was excellent EVERY time, and although there was less on the menu due to Covid, there was something to suit everyone - and of course the service was spot on! We also took up the offer of a packed lunch most days which was a great idea, and good value too! Overall a fab place to stay - can't rate it highly enough. See you next year guys!!
