  Lindas vistas!

  Estuvimos alojados en el hotel, porque mirado hizo el Ironman de Saint Croix, el pasado 5 de Mayo. Todo el personal fue super servicial. Las habitaciones son amplias y con muy buena vista a la playa y a los amplios jardines. El hotel cuenta con 3 playas, todas mas bien pequeñas, y muy rapidamente se hace muy profundo, pero tiene buen servicio de reposeras, de bar y wif. Se ven muy bonitos atardeceres desde el hotel.El downtown es muy pintoresco. Lo pase muy tranquilo, pero si tuviera que volver elegiría otro destino, por ej, Saint John; que esta cerca y es mucho mas bonito.

  Un lugar especial

  Me he quedado tres veces en El Buccaneer y cada una de las experiencias fue muy buena. Desde la llegada, que resulta impresionante por la belleza de sus jardines y el campo de golf, hasta la entrada al recibidor donde te ofrecen de inmediato un rum punch y la amabilidad de los empleados, se va creando lo que va a ser el servicio en este hotel. Todas las veces me quedado por razones de trabajo y en una de las ocasiones estuve 8 días. La primera vez, me asignaron una habitación en el edificio principal. Bonita, pero no extraordinaria..y el acondicionador de aire apenas enfriaba. Así que llamé y de inmediato me cambiaron de habitación y esta si estaba preciosa y el aire funcionaba. La segunda vez estuvimos en los cuartos que dan al mar. Mi cuarto olía a humedad, el acondicionador de aire era muy ruidoso y apenas pude dormir por ambas cosas. Nuevamente, me cambiaron de habitación a una recién remodelada y ahí se acabó el problema. La tercera vez, nos asignaron habitaciones en el medio del complejo. Cuartos que son como "townhouses", algo viejos y la vegetación totalmente descuidada en sus alrededores. Una de las noches el sistema de acondicionadores de aire de esas habitaciones se dañó y fue horrible porque no hay ventilación y el calor era agobiante. Nos recompensaron con una nota y una botella de vino. Uno de los sábados disfrutamos de una tarde al aire libre con música, vinos y entremeses como cortesía del hotel. El uso de los kayaks y los equipos de scuba son gratuitos. La playa es muy agradable y la comida muy buena, tanto en el restaurante cerca de la playa como en el salón grande. Es un lugar para pasarlo tranquilo y me llamó la atención que el público general puede pasar a disfrutar de la playa y eso es excelente!

  Amazing stay, friendly staff, quiet and relaxing!

  Traveled to St Croix last month with my Mom and sister for a bit of am impromptu family excursion. By way of background, I am a retired US Navy physician who just finished 30 years of service. I have traveled around the globe with my job and on vacation more than most... I have been in cities where an armed escort was required... I have also been to Dubai and Bahrain and stayed at the Ritz Carlton there. I am generally easy going, friendly, considerate, and I live by a sort of "go with the flow" vibe on vacation (although I can be rather type-A in my daily routine...haha). I mention this because so often we have no idea who is writing a review and therefore no idea of how to interpret what is said. Hopefully that at least gives you a small idea. ;-) When I booked this trip I was hesitant because there were a small number of negative reviews... particularly from people who were fired up about the staff being rude or some such. I am glad that I pushed past those reviews!!! I also read a small handful of complaints about the condition of the room. Again, I am glad I pressed forward! Of course I can only speak for our experience... but... we had an absolutely amazing visit! The room was beautiful and clean. The air conditioning was cold but not freezer-cold (you know when it's up too high and the room feels sort of cold but humid). It wasn't;t like that at all - we all thought it was perfect! The staff were AMAZING! My Mom is 80 years old and walking back up the hill to our room from the beach at the end of the day was a bit of a struggle... We rang the front desk and they sent someone to give us a ride back within 3 minutes. The driver was warm, friendly, and helpful... and noted that we should call each afternoon so that my Mom wouldn't have to make the trip.. or even part of the trip. Wonderful! We had breakfast every morning and we thought it was great! Fresh bacon, sausage, eggs, and a smidge of local dishes on some days. Breakfast burritos another day (again - delicious!). We had dinner at the restaurant by the beach (I can't recall the name), and again were very happy! I think it is worth mentioning that while we were there I witnessed at least one guest being short with the staff at breakfast... and then (perhaps not surprisingly), they also complained about everything from the coffee to the length of time their order took, and on and on. We were seated nearby and suffice it to say that they were not the most positive-minded couple. We saw the same couple at the beach later having similar "difficulties." As with most things in life, it is what you bring to the equation that influences how the universe responds. While the staff were gracious and accommodating to these guests, anyone with even a little empathy could read the uncomfortableness on their faces (the staff). I mention this because my family and I had such a wonderful time there and I honestly, could not imagine having some sort of conflict with the staff or feeling scammed or pressured to use the facilities or what have you. Everything at the beach was included for free.. kayaks, snorkel equipment, noodles, etc.... I hope this review will prove helpful as you wade through reviews and wonder at the small number of strongly negative comments. I was not there and cannot say with certainty what did or did not happen... I can only say that as a person who has visited many, many countries and people over a very long military career, that the staff and accommodations at the Buccaneer were WONDERFUL! Mind you, my review is biased by the fact that I am easy-going and I enjoy the company of all people... but that aside, one does not have to be easy-going to enjoy a spectacular stay at the Buccaneer. A stellar facility with warm and helpful staff... Period. Paragraph. Go now... you won't regret it! :-)

  Perfect Wedding

  My daughter was married at the Buccaneer on Feb. 27, 2021. It was literally perfect. Erin Procter, our wedding planner, was the BEST. She was on top of everything, and was there the whole time with us. She made the entire process completely stress-free, even in the pandemic!! We stayed for five days while the couple stayed for a week. It was really paradise. We did all our activities at the hotel. The beach BBQ for rehearsal was delicious! The flowers they did were amazing (we just let them do whatever they wanted with island flora), the decorations were immaculate, our guitarist was fantastic. The rooms were spectacular with beautiful views. Erin planned a welcome reception for us because most of the guests came in at the same time. She also got the restaurant to stay open late at lunch because we were famished after flying in from Michigan. It was lovely! The breakfast buffet was amazing as well. Just awesome. OH! VERY IMPORTANT! Our whole family LOVED the cats!! They were so much fun to learn about and watch! The only slight negatives were the service at the Mermaid restaurant (3 hours for dinner on Thursday and lobster ran out), and our DJ had problems with the songs skipping when playing (which was an issue during the father/daughter dance). The DJ issue certainly wasn't the Buccaneer's fault, though. Overall, I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you to the amazing staff at the Buccaneer and especially to Erin! We loved it!

  Gente Amable - Buena Experiencia

  Es la primera vez que experimento quedarme en un establecimiento que data de 1653, es decir en plena epoca de Piratas y Bucaneros, verifique si era cierta la inscripción a la entrada del resort y en el lobby me afirmaron que si. Es decir que el sitio tiene 362 años de fundado!! El hotel es un poco viejo, sus habitaciones deben tener entre 15 a 20 años, pero están bien mantenidas. La atención es buena, tipica de un resort de verano. Tienen una cancha de golf, que en mi caso sirvió para hacer un poco de ejercicio. Además tienen canchas de tenis y una pequeña playa que desafortunadamente no pude disfrutar. Sin embargo vi el programa del resort y tienen muchas actividades para la familia, snorkeling, juegos de playa, paseos a los arrecifes etc. Parece que St Croix no es un gran destino turistico, porque no estaba muy ocupado, pero creo que se puede considerar para el futuro.
