  Weekend away

  Very welcoming on arrival. Great room, bright and clean. Breakfast not too early. Large selection to choose from. Evening meal can also be provided if booked before hand. Also comes with parking which is a bonus.

  Just returned home from the Brockton for our northern soul weekend not sure weather this is our 4 or 5 visit but have to say we always get a warm welcome from Phil and his family and nothing is ever to much trouble everything is spot on every time we go already booked for next year so that says it all

  Didnt stay

  We booked a room for NY eve short notice. The owner was a bit disorganised and difficult to get recommendations to eat. The hotel is definitely not 4 star and the room was ok but there was a strong smell of urine in the hall that was coming into the room. We decided not to stay and drove home. Wouldnt book again.

  Great Yorkshire Bed and Breakfast.

  We booked this small bed and breakfast for four nights. The hotel is small with 12 rooms all ensuit, we were met by Kate. The owner, she was very welcoming and extremely helpful, the Brockton is very clean and bright. There is a small bar, we had a few drinks in the bar with Phil the owner he was a great person very chatty and amusing, we had many enjoyable nights in the bar with Phil. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice. We had the full English breakfast, one of the best I have had. Our stay at the Brockton was very enjoyable, we will be staying there again, we would recommend the Brockton, if you are looking for a small comfortable, clean guest house this is the place for you.

  brockton again....

  nice to be back at the brockton. we are a couple and visited here once a long time ago, 24 years to be precise, our first little break together. our stay this time was booked through booking.com, tried to ring the place but number came up as not obtainable so had to go through net. our room was a standard double costing 78 quid for a night. the owners are friendly and polite, making you feel at home the instant you enter. our room was number 8 which had a limited sea view. the room was clean and comfortable. bathroom spotless. tv did not work but dvd player did, which was ok with us as all usual rubbish on tv anyway. shower lacked power but water nice and hot. parking is ok, the owner telling me he would move his own car if no space available. very nice breakfast which was served quickly. we would highly recommend the brockton.
