SexistsAfter a good couple of hours in here yesterday, we came back today and we were not allowed in as there were 3 people of the same sex. We are 50 year old sensible people and it's 2020. Shame in this day and age

Came for a drink with the family.Great little old pub. Staff very polite and welcoming. COVID rules were strict which was very comforting that you were in a safe environment. Table service, card and cash payments taken. Would definitely recommend! Families welcome.

Spur of the moment pint (arent they all)Spur of the moment refreshment required and we had been recommended to find the Black Horse, and we were not disappointed. What a lovely unique friendly bar. Great service, good Guiness, and very covid alert staff, on the ball making you feel safe, whilst not stifling your experience of the pub. Thank you, we will be back.

Great little placeStopped here for the weekend and we've found it a lovely place. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, the room is clean and comfortable, overlooking the market place. Due to covid rules we only managed to get into the pub once over the weekend but enjoyed it when we did, good beer, good company. We've already booked to come back next year.

A warm Whitby welcomeSo pleased we stopped here for a drink - a lovely peaceful oasis from the busy street outside. Venue is fully Covid aware and takes the measures seriously but without detracting from providing such a friendly welcome from both of the female bar staff. A good range of ciders and beers on offer and we ended up having a couple of Yapas (Yorkshire Tapas) which were excellent - my husband really enjoyed the pork pie topped with black pudding which was made locally and I thought the crab pate was excellent. Lovely traditional pub with 3 different bar areas and it was great to be able to chat to staff and another couple on the table near us (socially distanced of course!). Would definitely return if we were in Whitby again.
