Accommodation with free parkingIn good location about 10 minutes walk outside centre of ironbridge. Friendly hosts. Good breakfast but not great choice for evening meal. Very tired decor in bedrooms and carpet in bathroom! Free parking. Not really a pub as bar closed all day and at 8 in evenings. However normal pub next door which also does food and accommodation.

AvoidTaken awhile to recover from the visit.... Not too sure who is writing the good reports about it....Must be an aquired taste or the owners have friends. Its quirky....The dated decor reminded me of my Grandparents House circa 1960...No taste...No style and haphazard hand written information signs. The entrance to the rooms smelt like i was entering a toilet ....and the noise from creaking floorboards from outside and upstairs was loud... Basic Pub food....Breakfast was cooked fresh but bland and formulaic.....The Greasy spoon personified... The place seems to think a lot about itself....I'm struggling to understand why...Scruffy...Seen better days....Adjectives could go on and on

An absolute treasureWell what can we say! This is just the most amazing little b&b and pub! Booking was easy and a call 24 hours prior from Steve to advise of local roadworks and alternate routes helped massively. On arrival we instantly felt at home, Steve was helpful and friendly and showed us to our room, even managing to swap our twin to a double for a us. We popped into the pub for a drink before venturing out and again felt like home. He gave us hints and tips for the area and we popped our drinks on a tab for the weekend. It is conveniently located and in our eyes perfect for both sight seeing, walking and trips into town. Friday night we walked into the main area which took around 10/15 mins and easily navigated. Lots to do like tea rooms, pubs and little shops. Ironbridge is a gorgeous town and one wed advise for a weekend away. The rooms were basic but extremely comfortable, we both slept amazingly! Saturday we went for a long walk from here to across the river and back again and you can see how beautiful a city, and the views from the bird in hand show it in its glory. Again we had a drink with Steve Saturday evening before going and its evident how much time and passion goes into this, its more than a business - and for us it meant a lot to support a local business over the usual bigwigs. Breakfast was included and yummy, full English or egg on toast with the table set out For the time we asked. We didnt eat lunch or dinner here but the food looked amazing and lots of choice plus extremely reasonable. We had an amazing weekend made even better by staying here, we cant recommend enough either for a drink or overnight. Thank you Steve x

Very disappointedWe are looking for the best Sunday lunch in Ironbridge. Our meal at the bird in hand was very disappointing and is not in the running for this title. The menu was very limited for Sunday roasts. We had reserved a table for 1:30pm, but already the only roast they could offer was the last portion of roast beef or chicken. The b&b residents had pre-booked their meals for later!! The roast potatoes were nice but the rest of the frozen veg and reheated meat were not.
