  Pre Lcokdown Break

  Having lost our main holidays to pandemic decided to take a late break on the south coast. Booked the Belmont as it looked to be one of the best in Sidmouth and surrounding area. Proved to be an excellent choice. Unfortunately, we had booked for four nights but Lockdown 2.0 meant we had to reduce to three. Nevertheless, we still had a good time and all the staff were polite, friendly and helpful, despite knowing they were about to have an enforced 4 week furlough break. I would state this is an hotel primarily for couples, normally including jacket and tie for evening meals, although I am sure families would be equally well received.

  Short break

  Had booked a Belmont inland room with walk in shower, on arrival we were given an upgrade to Belmont sea view again with walk in shower. The door porter showed us to a parking spot in the courtyard and carried our luggage up to a lovely large beautifully furnished room which left nothing to be desired. The dinner menu was excellent with 4 courses with the opportunity of canapés in the bar before hand and then when we were finished we had to refuse the 5th course of cheese and biscuits . At breakfast there was a wide choice of fruit.cereals continental or cooked dishes which set us up for the day.The service was polite and efficient , the staff in particular Sorin were very good. The whole break was completely up to Brend group.standard .the COVID precautions left nothing wanting ,tables ,chairs and surfaces sanitised as soon as they were vacated.We cannot recommend highly enough .

  IT JUST GETS BETTER!

  Over the years weve stayed here quite a few times.So it was nice to revisit and take in some of our fond memories. The setting is superb, and if you can get a sea view room, well thats the added bonus! The staff remain excellent and truly competent. The food is delightful, with so much attention to detail. The public rooms are clean and boast nice decor. Our bedroom was bright and cheerful, and had all the extras you would expect. Looking forward to returning again next year!

  Highly recommend

  Hotel in a perfect position for the town of Sidmouth. Staff professional and polite. Room immaculate and very comfortable. Breakfast excellent and the set evening meal tasty and good value for money. Very good COVID measures in place .

  Belmont Break

  The Belmont is a favourite destination of ours both for lunch when enjoying a day trip to Sidmouth, and for short breaks. We visited last weekend (6.12.20) and despite the hotel just reopening after lockdown, all was warm and comfortable. We took advantage of a very generous offer for winter breaks, enjoying half board. Food was superb as ever, and the six course dinner exquisite although we couldn't quite manage the cheese course. A traditional hotel with exemplary standards.
