  Wasnt the hotel we initially booked with....

  We got bait and switched to the sister hotel in the back parking lot. Saw the construction going on with the coral mountain behind...but didnt affect us because we left each morning prior to the contractor working. Our Oceanview hotel actually was nice because the rooms were recently renovated. My toilet clogged on the second day and had the maintenance man repair it. It still didnt flush well...so I got the front desk to send out a second maintenance man that used a wet/dry vacuum to suck up the object. I suspect that it mightve been either a small shampoo bottle or soap that the housekeeper strangely sets on the toilet tank each day...that couldve fallen in. The AC was apparently new....but I couldnt adjust the temperature or fan speed...and the front desk guy acknowledged that it was new but that were having problems with it...and didnt know how to adjust it. It was too cold and too high fan speed for the first several nights. I was able to somehow adjust it to a lower speed on the fourth night. Other than that...it was an okay stay.

  Excellent value for money!

  Is it a luxury hotel - no. Does it fulfill the required needs - definitely yes. The room was very big, nice balcony with a view to the bay, and clean. It is outdated, especially the bathroom, but overall it provides excellent value for money, and if you do not find a parking lot on the outside parking area, there is also a covered one just down the road. Excellent location with a small shopping area where there is a coffee shop and convenience store. The bedding was weird as the flat sheet was way too short. The room 1008 had some constant noise from the rooftop (last floor), but it was not a problem for me. The air-conditioner was difficult to operate when it was on it was too cold and the thermostat seemed not to make any change, but better have one than without.

  OK

  I stayed one night. The room was clean and wide enough for two of us. But no tooth brush,no roomshoes. It's near from the center of the city,very convenient. It's under the construction ,so little bit noisy and old. But it's ok.

  Ventilation/AC system broken, walls vibrating, massive noise, Management not helpful

  If you enjoy the noise of a helicopter or huge ship engine and vibrating walls at your hotel room - then book this hotel. The ventilation/AC system of this hotel is very old and obviously half broken, which makes it so noisy that it I found it impossible to sleep for the whole night and got a massive headache from it. It feels like you're in the middle of the engine room of a ship with constant rattling and shaking, and this even though I completely switched off the AC at the room. It's the system as a whole, at least on the 7th floor. At 3:30am, after 2 hours in bed trying to catch some sleep, I asked the receptionist for earplugs and she said they don't have any, but she will call maintenance to check the system and I should wait. She said the noise sometimes happens if the people at the neighbouring rooms make changes to the settings of their ACs. I was waiting for maintenance for half an hour and nobody showed up. I returned to reception and she said that they cannot do anything before 7:30am. I asked if they have another room so that at least I can get some hours of sleep. She said if I want I can stay at an unrenovated room on the 5th floor if that's ok, I said it is, as long as it is quiet there. Then she called her manager who refused the room change. The reason was that my wife and little daughter somehow managed to fall asleep in the noisy room and I didn't want to wake them up at 4:30am and ask them to change to another room. The manager insisted that either all or nobody of us 3 change to another room. Very disappointing and uncooperative reaction from the manager. The receptionist even felt sorry for me and frustrated. It is also not possible to control the temperature, even when the AC is off it makes the room extremely cold as a fridge. The room itself is ok, but bathroom very old-fashioned, run-down and molded.

  Not recommended

  Not recommended. A very old hotel in decay and desperate need for renovation. Room carpeting so filthy it turned our bare feet black. Good location, but uncomfortably hard bed and pillows. No electric kettle in the room. Very good WiFi connection. All in all, as a last choice with no other option, otherwise go elsewhere.
