Our favorite hotel ever! Try a different room each night

We have been coming to this Anniversary Inn a couple of times every year for about 20 years. It is our ALL-TIME favorite hotel/bed&breakfast. RELAXED ATMOSPHERE: It has a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere - feeling almost like a bed & breakfast without having to chat with anyone. BEAUTIFUL ROOMS: Every room is a work of art - some fancy and beautiful (Palace, Capitol, Mansion), others are creative and fun themes (Lighthouse, Hayloft, Egypt). They are all works of art, often with floor to ceiling murals. You can feel like you're traveling, just by trying different rooms. AMENITIES/TREATS: They treat you to chocolate-chip cookies at check in, a bottle of sparkling cider on ice in the room, and bottled water in the in-room fridge. Breakfast in the morning is delicious. They simply knock on your door and leave the stand/tray right by your door - you don't have to talk to anyone, or tip a room service delivery person. We love the ham & cheese croissants, the yogurt/granola parfait and the hot cocoa. LOCATION: The Anniversary Inn is a 5 minute walk from the Boise greenbelt, for miles of beautiful parks and walking paths along the Boise River. Or, within 10-15 minutes, you can walk to charming downtown Boise and enjoy all the restaurants and shops. The airport is only an easy 10-minute drive or Uber/Lyft ride away. Since we moved away from Boise, we now fly back just to stay here and enjoy a relaxed few days. GREAT VALUE: Their prices are often similar to a chain hotel, but for a superior and special experience. Watch for their "Suite of the Month" specials, and seasonal specials. If you stay, sign up for their "Romantic Rewards" program, where they give you a voucher worth about 10% of your stay to use on your next visit. They also provide free parking. We haven't found anywhere that compares to the Anniversary Inn for the combination of beautiful, creative rooms, delicious in-room breakfast and treats, relaxed non-commercial atmosphere, and convenience of location for walking and enjoying the area - all at a reasonable rate. Treat yourself to this experience and support this wonderful local gem!

    No words...

Where do I start. So we decided to do a date night last minute. Out of the rooms available only 2 were rooms wed stay in. We went with an ocean themed room. We arrive and the room is much smaller than anticipated and ...... let me break it down. We walked in and the room as super hot. I turned it down to 68 and we left for over an hour and it was still hot upon return. We actually had to turn on the ac. The sink and toilet area was clean. We had a closet with extra items and a fridge which froze the items we put in it. Then there was a tiny out dated table and chairs, I noticed this in many rooms. We had fish who seemed well taken care of. A bottle of sparkling cider was chilled for us. The bed was in a boat, it was dreadful to get in and out of. They need a much larger mattress, as in thicker, to go in there. The mattress was so lumpy you could actually see the lumps. Bedding seemed out dated. The plants and greener strung around seemed cleaner than I thought. The jetted tub area was slippery, had low clearance and was more difficult to get in and out of. It took us forever to locate the light. The shower was above the tub and it had poor water pressure. Again it was slick, we both slipped. Also, my husband hit his head on the low clearance 3 times. Water was getting all over because you had to climb out and use a step stool to get out. It all seemed unsafe in the tub area. Again the mattress was terrible. The food in the morning was okay. I think 3 stars was super generous.

    Dirty and behind on Maintenance

Stayed in the "Capital Room" 1st week in November 2020. Room was VERY DIRTY and way behind on maintenance. Heavy dust on headboard of bed, Carpets needed vacuuming. The tub had pink and green mold growing on it, Grout was cracked and missing. Fiberglass tub had permanent brown water stains and lots of cracks from wear. One piece of baseboard was missing in the bathroom. Crown moulding was pulling away from the ceiling. We almost left halfway into the evening but decided to stick it out. The in room breakfast was good.

    SO disappointing OLD

Had reservations for three nights...left after the first night. Help was fantastic otherwise I would have rated them one star. They did there best to accommodate us. Rooms were wore out. No shower. Carpet had high wear marks. Bedspread was faded and wore at all the edges and corners. Got the sense it had not been updated for twenty years. If I had paid entry level motel prices it would have been on par. Very expensive for what you get.

    Relaxing

My husband and I always stay here when visiting Boise. The rooms are fun and very relaxing. We like the location. It's easy to walk downtown or access the greenbelt. We love that breakfast is included (our favorite is the cinnamon rolls). We definitely recommend checking this place out if you want a quiet, relaxing stay.
