    Great property

    My wife and I came for a wedding at Ventanas in the Hilton Garden Inn nearby. I chose to stay here, because i had visited before on a business trip, it has a cool, retro, 60's vibe, and it was only a 10-minute walk to the wedding -- much less to many other places downtown. We took a Lyft from the airport, because we didn't need a car, and parking is expensive. Friendly staff.

    EXCELLENT STAFF...INCREDIBLE LOCATION!!

    First...to me there is nothing better than excellent customer service wherever you go...this hotel has an incredible staff! The Front Desk Manager, Colin, made me feel welcome with his warm personal touch even prior to check in! I appreciated the true hospitality I felt during my stay. From Colin and other front desk staff, to the housekeeping staff, and the wonderful valet staff...I couldn't have asked for better service! It is a beautiful hotel with history and the location was absolutely perfect! I will definitely be back to stay often!

    Great Vacation! Great Staff! Thank you Lamika

    Truly a great stay after a rocky start with our Reservations being moved two days prior due to Hospital Staff moved into another Hilton Property in Downtown Atlanta where our initial reservations were made. Lamika made us feel better about the sudden change in reservations to the Double Tree's "The American Hotel" and her support during the vacation continued during the stay and on check-out despite the fully booked hotel with many guests to assist during the New Year's Holiday. Thank you! Great staff at this hotel to assist you during your stay and in close proximity to many Atlanta events downtown. The staff in total was a great with additional support provided by Lindsay at the front desk and Richard in the restaurant on site. Worth the trip. We will be back.

    The Marketing man dropped the ball

    As a fan and Hilton Honors member I try to be positive when writing about Hilton hotels. I'm also a Diamond member. My general feeling about all service companies is 'deliver what you sell' or don't sell it to me. A one day trip to Atlanta on January 1st was tarnished by a complete drop in service by the employees at this DoubleTree Hilton Hotel. We arrived early on that day and planned to leave our bags as expectations were low that rooms would be available. Keep in mind that I had already check-in on the app and selected room 801 on the Hilton Honors floor. We returned to the hotel at 3:40pm, keep in mind that I indicated I would arrive at 3:00pm when checking in on the App. The room was NOT ready and it took FOUR employees to huddle around a single computer to try and figure out what to do. I was offered a king bed (not what was booked) or to move to a room facing another building (something I was desperate to avoid). The issue here was the the employees really couldn't care less. One lady tried the old customer service line on me "I'm trying to help" to which I said "I guess it's not going too well for you". Look - My beef is that service is dead in America. Here is a great example. Even the 'German' lady who's name tag said "Asst. General Manager" could not operate the system to help. If they are going to say that Diamond members are important, then someone should ensure Diamond members are taken care of, not left standing in the reception. Remember, that the 'digital key' they taught does not work if they are not organized. In short, we settled for a twin room facing a big glass building next door. The reception area was crowded with people waiting so it looked like a mess. One would think that service would improve as the COVID situation eliminates any differences between brands. There is no real breakfast (see picture of box), there is no room service, there are no amenities. Given this situation and price competition, what is the attraction to any brand. They certainly did not appreciate my business as compared to anyone else off the street. Maybe it's time to consider other brands when traveling as my Diamond Status will remain until 2022 giving me enough time to reassess. I'm sure I'll get an apology email explaining how it's not normal but in reality when it comes it will be the marketing man again responding as they should but would not take anything back was was done. The room was OK, nothing special and the elevators needed some maintenance attention.

    DO NOT STAY HERE with a family

    We checked into this hotel with the intention of staying two nights on a family road trip (New Years Day). It was horrible. The entire place reeked of marijuana. The valet was atrociously slow. And mani guests were not wearing masks. We ended up packing our things on the first nights and relocating to a different hotel in midtown. If you are traveling with a family DO NOT STAY at this hotel. So disappointing.
