  Edificio impresionante, señorial, con amplios jardines y buena ubicación. El desayuno excelente, incluido en el precio con una amplia gama de platos que puedes pedir gratuitamente, incluyendo huevos benedictinos. La habitación sencilla, colchones antiguos que se hunden y no son cómodos para dormir. Recepción no muy amable, sin consigna para guardar equipaje (increíble). Restaurante regular, el pescado no sabía a nada y la pasta con cangrejo sólo sabía a jengibre y cilantro (no a cangrejo).

  A few niggles, but nice.

  We were looking forward to getting away for the night after coming out of lockdown, and stay local. Hotel is quite well known to us, been to weddings and events there before and always been tempted to stay over. We had a 'winter getaway' deal which included dinner, bed and breakfast and cream tea on arrival. Couldn't really fault any of the food or service. We had an executive suite, which on first impression was quite nice, bathroom was lovely, with nice White Company toiletries. But just a few things that were annoying, the shower tray filled with water in about 10 seconds, so you had to turn off shower and wait for it to clear, before continuing your shower, else the bathroom would of flooded! Our socket by the bed wasn't working,so you couldn't have your bedside light on and charge your phone etc at the same time. There were no hair straighteners (as advertised). So didn't feel great going to dinner, without my hair sorted. The décor was nice, but carpets a little stained and bare in places. I know beds are totally subjective, but we found it quite uncomfortable, and pillows felt cheap and flat/compacted down feeling. We couldn't get the WiFi to work either, which wasn't a biggie, but just annoying, and quite essential these days. I guess for us it didn't feel 4 star, we felt a bit cheated, you know exactly what you get with a Premier Inn or alike and that would of been a lot cheaper. I guess our overall feeling, is the room let us down. I know we could of rung reception about a few of the issues, but a lot the things like blocked shower and broken electrics weren't going to be a quick fix anyway. The hotel could be amazing, as it's in a beautiful setting, and such an old building. But you could do with addressing the basics.

  Lovely stay

  We decided on a quick short break and took advantage of the winter special deal. We certainly were not disappointed. The hotel is lovely and the staff so friendly. Excellent covid measures in place making it feel really safe. We had a lovely cream tea on arrival. Room service was also very good. Breakfast choices are excellent and the food very good. A very convenient hotel for visiting Truro which is just minutes walk away. Plenty of car park spaces. We will definitely be returning again next year. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

  A brilliant Christmas Package

  We have just returned from The Alverton Hotel where we enjoyed their five nights Christmas package. We couldn't have chosen better! Our room (3) was spacious, clean and comfortable, The food was excellent but, most impressive was the welcome we received on arrival and the attention to detail of the friendliest staff you could wish to meet. Simply a superb hotel

  A great Christmas package

  We have just enjoyed the five nights Christmas package at the Alverton and could not have chosen a better hotel Our room (3) was spacious, clean and comfortable, the food was excellent and we received the warmest welcome from the friendliest staff you could meet. Brilliant, We loved every minute of our stay at this lovely hotel Highly recommended
