Thumbs up !We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights here. We wanted a more quiet experience away from the noidy hubbub of town and I had stayed close to the ski mountain before. We had a room with 2 queen beds. Mini fridge available upon request. It's a 15 minute drive into town. Mark and Ann are the perfect hosts, warm, friendly and extremely helpful. Great breakfast was part of the booking. Tables are spaced for health safety. Free parking. Gondola to the top of the ski mountain is right next door. There's horses nearby to feed apples to, paragliders sailing off the mountain and a closeby asphalt walking, running, biking path that's parallel to the Tetons. You can not ask for a more gorgeous location also close to the southern entrance to the national park. We had takeout from nearby Teton Thai restaurant. We have fond memories - we'll be back !

Beautiful location, bed was terribleEveryone at the hotel was very nice. We absolutely loved the quaint little restaurant, food was great. But, after traveling all over the US, this was the most horrible 2 nights ever. The bed was terrible. I cant say just how bad, painful nights.

Good value overall, but needs some love!I'd like to start by saying, COVID has really impacted many businesses. I'm sure the Alpenhof has struggled to stay afloat. Especially since ski resorts were essentially closed last year. In my opinion, the Alpenhof is an older property that needed to make improvements, but getting caught in the pandemic downturn, I'm sure those improvements had to wait. Here are some thoughts...It's not a true ski in ski out, but it's close. You have to hike your skis up to the lift which includes stairs, but it's much easier to ski back at the end of the day. Mary, at the front desk, was a gem. Friendly and helpful, she's the kind of employee you cherish. We liked the Bavarian feel of this place. We've stayed in European resorts like this. It was pretty authentic. Dining room: We were looking forward to eating in the dining room. However, due to COVID, it looks nothing like the photos. This is due to removal of many of the intimate tables around the fireplace to social distance. Not the fault of the property, but it made a difference whether we wanted to eat dinner there. The tables were spread far apart and the lighting was harsh. Just adding candlelight and turning down the overheads (and putting the fireplace on) would have made it more appealing. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and is served in the same dining room. We enjoyed it. Our room, a standard King was old, but well maintained. The bed was another story. Really bad. I looked at the mattress. It was basically crushed between 2 pieces of foam. Note to ownership, the mattresses have to be replaced. Everything else is older, but acceptable. We discovered, on our last day, that the second floor had a lively apres ski scene. There is a bar on this floor, but no one mentioned it. We stumbled upon it. Wish we would have known, because it looked like a great place to hang out. There was no hot tub due to COVID. A shame, but understandable. The pool was supposedly heated, but we did not use it. Several employees recommended using Ski Butler for ski rentals. We wholeheartedly recommend them. You fill out all of the paperwork on line and tell them when you want the equipment. They met us in the lobby and we were fitted with everything in our room. So convenient and the same price as going into a shop. Shane was great. I'm a hard boot fit. He went out of his way to bring several sets and worked to help me get a good fit. The Alpenhof has a ski locker area. Once you are finished with your skis, you can leave them in the locker for Ski Butler to pick up. Would we stay again? Yes. The rate for a standard room was about $300. When you include breakfast, it's really a good value. Note to Owner: Please budget for new mattresses and let you customers know and Alpenhof will have many more years of life in the Teton Village.

Needs some love and redecorating. We stopped in for lunch while skiing. Being familiar with Austrian and Swiss food, we ordered the Gulasch Suppe, a beer, apple strudel and a salad. The soup was ok but not great. The chunk of bread served with it was stale. The $14 salad were a few fork fulls - the smallest salad portion I ate the entire week. The strudel was average. Our server was a delight so thumbs-up to him!

Extremely low value for your money, only plus was the locationVery outdated hotel with bitter staff. We paid over $400/night during a lower season ski trip for this hotel. The location is great, right next to the Sky Tram. Everything else was a huge disappointment. Rooms are "historic", aka very outdated. Cleaning was suboptimal (the balcony was full of empty beer bottles when we checked in). Facilities unavailable: hot tub and sauna closed "due to COVID" - even though EVERY OTHER hotel in Teton Village had theirs open! Internet was spotty at best, if you were lucky to even pick up the hotel wifi. Staff overall clearly not enjoying their jobs, some just plain bitter. After spending 5 nights there at this outrageously expensive place, we asked for a 2 hr extension on the checkout time so I can complete a work meeting in the room in a private setting. Mary Pimm at the front desk rudely replied that the only way to do that is to pay $50, despite having a 30% hotel occupancy rate!?! Even after explaining the situation, the answer just got more and more rude. This interaction greatly summed up our experience at this place and left us with a very bitter taste. Will never return to this place.
