comfortStayed here last night, room warm, bed very comfortable good quality linen and pillows, spotlessly clean. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice in lovely surroundings. Friendly staff, could not find a single fault.

A unique space, walking distance from the Historic centre of Bury St EdmundsI had the pleasure of stay at the Abbey Hotel recently and found a beautiful Historic building that has adapted well to these difficult new times. The space was beautiful, well-appointed and could not have been more convenient in location. I was made to feel welcome from the moment of booking, with care and a personal touch making the process a relief in times of distancing. All respect was given to the 'new normal' of UK hospitality without taking away the treat factor of staying in this property. I will definitely stay again next time in town.

"Simply the Best"We can't recommend The Abbey highly enough. We stayed in the Cottage, with it's own interesting history having been 'modernised' in the most sympathetic way. We were made to feel welcome to use the hotel facilities, including their fabulous lounge, if we wanted. But the cottage was so well equipped we didn't need to, everything was there that we needed and more. Excellent parking facilities, very comfortable bed, lovely cooked breakfast with plenty of choice etc and so many other thoughtful touches. The family and staff we met were really friendly, very helpful and professional too. The location was brilliant being close the The Abbey and town centre. We'd have no hesitation in going back.

Will not be returningWent for a Frday to Monday stay, me my husband, my sister and her husband, got to room thought nice cup of tea, little milk cartons nearly 2 months out of date and nasty, complementary toiletries tubes nearly empty where they had been used room so noisy because of traffic even with windows closed this was room 2, asked to move room as got no sleep, lady who we dealt with that day was lovely and helpful, we all changed rooms. The replacement room ob not been cleaned for weeks, dead flies over window ledges and cobwebs inside, plus spider which I cleared myself, bed felt gritty, pillows were like puff balls very uncomfortable. and you couldnt deflate them. Generally run down and dismall, old unclean furniture, breakfast served in room, ok but basic choice, and luke warm, last morning ordered omelette got a folded mess floating in raw egg, so had nothing to eat, no cups and saucers given for coffee, disgusting. Rooms not serviced, and nothing supplied even to just clean it yourself !!!! So would not return again nor recommend, considering just over a week before xmas, not even a bit of tinsel which would have at least maybe if possible brightened this miserable hotel, couldn't wait to get home
