  Clean and basic, pleasant but not 4*

  It is a beautiful building from outside which is what captured our attention The hotel Itself inside is a little trip back to the 90s. Its clean and comfortable but very basic, there was no mini bar in the rooms, no temperature control air conditioning and dated decor but clean and neat. The breakfast was very disappointing. It was again basic and we couldnt get an espresso only filter coffee and breakfast served was very café style. I asked for poached eggs but could only have them scrambled or fried. Its a nice looking hotel from outside but Im not sure how its been given 4 stars, its a 2-3* hotel at best. Youll have a pleasant enough stay but we were very disappointed in the quality.

  Great location in Malvern!

  The Abbey Hotel is located right in the middle of Malvern, perfect for walking around the town & up the hills. It is a lovely old looking building unfortunately spoilt a bit by the 70s office building extension sticking out of the side. When you book check which part you are in, old or not so old, we were in the extension in an Elgar room which was smaller than expected, a bit on the tight side. It had everything you need & it was clean, the bathroom is a bit disappointing, stand-in bath for a shower & it is in need of a refurbishment. The staff were excellent, they were friendly & could not do enough to help, we needed a couple of things for the room & they were sorted immediately. They had all the covid protocols in place which were not intrusive. Critically we would stay there again for a break.

  1 night break

  Beautiful hotel and area. Staff were very helpful. We asked to change rooms as we wanted a view. This was quickly done. Would visit again. Loved hearing the abbey bells ringing in the morning from the room window.

  A Beautiful Historic Hotel!

  This was our first visit back since the Covid crisis, and it was good to be back. Everything was safe and spotlessly clean, with all precautionary measures in place. The staff were so welcoming and attentive (you have to spare a thought for them as the hospitality sector has really taken a hit). The restaurant was closed, so the food was brought to our room at no extra cost.......all beautiful cooked, warm and delicious. Breakfast was made to order and superb. All in all.......a fantastic stay at a beautiful, historic hotel. We will be back!

  Super Location in Malvern

  The main reason I have rated 5 stars is based on value for money, our room was in the extension and I think was £60 which included breakfast and a free drink each. Pros Covid pack on check in (masks etc) Good size room with tea, coffee etc Fantastic location in Malvern Free parking Friendly staff Cons Pillows quite firm would be good to have soft option to. One way covid system confusing as discourages using the lift but then no other way to get upstairs ? Coffee machine at breakfast, seems a bit pointless having covid procedures then lots of people throughout the morning pressing the buttons and the machine not being cleaned in between. Overall a great stay and would go back again if staying in Malvern.
