  Shocking Guinness, nearly got sick. Not poured correctly. Barmaid didn't know how to pour gunniness, didn't let it settle, poured straight to top without time to settle, would not recommend the Guinness to a friend, stick to bottles

  Wedding

  We had a small wedding ceremony & reception at the TF Castlebar in September, and had a fantastic experience. Event manager Carmel was always kind, helpful and available for queries in the planning stages, despite uncertainty and confusion around changing levels of restrictions at the time. Her calm guidance was much appreciated. We were given a red carpet welcome and had our ceremony in the beautifully decorated Humbert room, which was spacious and light-filled. We were then accommodated in the large front bar for drinks and delicious canapes. The bar had plenty of space and tables while still feeling intimate & cosy. Luckily the weather was beautiful and we were also able to sit outside on the terrace at the front of the hotel, a real sun trap! Our meal was served back in the Humbert room, again with tables beautifully decorated & laid, all the extra little details were great, such as printed menus with a photo of my husband and I on front, taken during the ceremony. We had devised a menu with Carmel's help and our requests were all accommodated, and at very short notice due to unforeseen changes in our circumstances. We were delighted with the quality and presentation of the meal, our food was delicious, hot and plentiful. Massive compliments to the chef and his team! And to the staff at reception, and those who served us in the bar and during the meal - everyone was friendly, professional and courteous. A huge thank you to all at the TF for making our day special during such difficult times. You should be very proud of all your staff, your customer service was just amazing. Our family felt welcome and safe throughout, as did we. best wishes and thanks again to you all.

  Dropped by this place.... With all going on i fancied a pint after a long day...Jordan, the waiter/ barman ...not paid enough, a lovely guy, professional, happy and made all his customers were happy..a gem in this place, they shud take a leaf out of his book, fair play!!!

  Excellent meal and service

  Booked for small gathering/meal in restaurant last Friday, food selection on menu and presentation was excellent and very appealing. Table decorations were lovely. Ample room for more than adequate social distancing and all staff constant adherence to sanitizing and social distancing was very reassuring, premises were spotless and lots of sanitizers. Lovely one man band who sang and played the saxophone really added to the ambience and brought a small touch of normality to these times. The staff are an asset to this hotel Carmel, Philip and Jordan looked after us so well, friendly and professional and assured a great experience. What a gem in Castlebar.

  Christmas Meal

  A small group of us attended last Friday evening the 11th of December. Words cannot express how enjoyable our evening was from start to finish. Ambience was amazing. I wish to compliment the chef on the super food. The service was top class. We also had entertainment. The most important thing is all guidelines were adhered to, this is the place to be. We cannot wait to go back. Well done to management and staff, keep up the good work Carmel you were a pleasure to deal with.
