  We like the lake view & the facilities of the hot spa

  We stay 1 night in spring season for Higashimokoto shibazakura. We come back to this hotel again to stay 1 nights after 2 days trip in Akan NP & 2 days trip in Shiretoko, as the next day morning we head to Kamiyubetsu Tulip park & then Asahikawa. Easy to find the hotel via google map, open carpark is right in front of the lobby. check-in arrangement is smooth but counter staff only can speak very limited English (1st visit); The 2nd visit, I do not book in advance, we walk-in as I online checked that this hotel still has available room, but the counter staff told me that room is full '-'lll what!! it is not possible! I get my room after I ask him check again! Room arrange on 3rd floor, morning wake up with the lake view is great! When we check-in, the room set up in Japanese seating, after we came back from dinner, futon is set-up nicely! The private bath in our room is clean, room size is just good, bed comfort level average. Great Wifi speed; light snacks & green tea pack is provided too. Spa facilities for a 3 star hotel is surprisingly good, u have everything that u need like shower cap, hair comb in a sterilization machine, Kose face lotion & moisturizer, hair dryer, a few seating chairs for dress up. There was not much traveller during our stay, we really enjoy the indoor & outdoor lake view hot spa! Everything is good but just the hotel is a bit date, they may consider to do some renovation. The price is reasonable in Spring season, we will consider this hotel if we travel again to Abashiri! Thanks for the vote if you found this helpful :D

  Best Hotel in Abashiri

  Incredible quality prize relationship in this family run hotel with fabulous onsen and great views over the lake. I was upgraded to a lake view room Japanese style when I found out I was given a smoking room. The staff was super friendly and helpful booking taxis etc. Great stay all together

  Lovely view from the public bath

  Our group of 4 stayed in a Japanese room. The entrance had a small section for shoes and led to a spacious bathroom. There was also another section similar to a walk in wardrobe where the mattresses and robes were kept. The bedroom was of a good size for the 4 of us. My favourite was the public bath. It was quite big and the big glass windows overlooked the trees and gave it a really relaxing feel when soaking in the hot pool. Sadly we only stayed 1 night. It would be nice if we had stayed here for 2 nights.

  Worth to stay in Abashiri

  Had two tatami rooms for a family of six persons. Its winter and our room had a good view of the beautiful Abashiri frozen lake. The scenery is complete whiteness, majestic and beautiful. We arrived after dark and after searching in the web, we find that there are many restaurants open till 10pm. We ended in Sukiya to have beef bowl Rice in Abashiri Town. It is a cheap and pretty filling meal. The WiFi is available in all rooms and our parking is handle by the hotel manager. The Onsen here is rather empty but our family like it.

  No surprise - Still a good choice

  Our third stay at Abashiri Kanko since 2014 June. Room and service is OK, no surprise. Hotel, especially the rooms should be in a better shape if renovated. WiFi service is OK at times in the lobby but still no WiFi in rooms. Onsen is excellent. Breakfast is still quite good and decent even though, comparing to 2014, a bit not as before. Still our choice if we come to Abashiri again.
