200h Hatha and Asthanga Yoga Teacher Training Course

This 200h Yoga Teacher Training was an amazing experience. I hadnt originally planned to do my teacher training in India as I was not sure about travelling alone to India and staying there for a month. When I arrived at the airport in Dehradun, a driver was already waiting for me to pick me up with some other students. We were brought to the school and welcomed with a flower necklace and some hot chai. I felt very comfortable even it was a bit chaotic as the February training just ended. I was blessed with a wonderful roommate which made me feel very comfortable. The rooms are quite basic and the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. Our room didnt have a balcony but I enjoyed it much more to lie in the garden on the gras and we were not affected by any monkey snack attacks. As we are such a big group in March we were divided into two smaller groups for our Hatha and Ashtanga classes which was perfect for adjustments. Our teachers were amazing, they took time to explain all asanas and tried to answer all our questions. Some people struggled with the teaching as they were attached to their previous experiences. For me, I chose Rishikesh and this school to get a genuine experience so I was open to what they would tell me. We were provided with 3 meals a day, 24/7 filtered water and a kettle to boil water. I asked for some gluten free food which was first arranged but the kitchen staff was not that experienced with my diet so after a day I decided to just try to pick the things I was able to eat from the buffet. The food was delicious and genuine Indian food which was quite challenging for europeans that are not used to eat so many spices. Luckily, there are loads of wonderful cafes which prepare healthy and not so spicy food and they are all in 15min walking distance. Whenever there was a problem or you were sick, the staff did everything to help you and assist you with anything. Coming from a western country you might have certain standards and therefor some expectations about cleanliness, punctuality and organisation which might not be fulfilled but for me this is a wonderful part of traveling and getting to know other cultures. And there was no better way to practice this by doing yoga everyday and being together with amazing people from all over the world. Perfection doesnt exist, we have embrace everything that comes. I enjoyed my time a lot and I am grateful to meet such inspiring people that spread peace and positivity. Namaste.

    Nice one

Nothing out of the world about this place. The staff are good and helpful. I got typical North Indian food which was okay. Its located away from the traffic noise but is closer to lakshman jhula. Value for money.

    Rejuvenating Trip

The location of the resort was amazing. Despite it being situated in a crowded area, it was a calm place. Rooms were clean, food was good and great service from the staff. The hotel is at a perfect distance from both Laxman and ram jhula, which provided for us to walk every evening in the pleasant weather.
