  The ower took us to another place to sleep!

  We was told to make a payment right away when we were there in the morning. Later in the evening, when we got back, the owner took us to a nearby building which is some kind of funny-smelling noodle place on the 1st floor without prior notification. From the way he talked, it's seemed like he did something like this for a long time and it's common to take us to differ place than the original hotel building. Our room situated on the 4th floor, a few buildings away, no elevator, no security guard, only one CCTV spotted on the premise. We booked a room with free boat coupons but the owner refused to give those coupons when he knew we had Sun Moon Lake passes. We also told to not take a shower after 6PM since the hot water pipe system that is using between rooms may not work properly. On the bright side, the location is very good, easily access to the downtown.

  Terrible Smell in the room/ Worst Experience stay in Taiwan

  The wall was Moldy. Terrible smell when I entered the room. The toilet has a terrible smell coming out from no where. Worst of worst , the whole room was different from what they were advertising in google and in all hotel platforms. It was totally different and it is extremely uncomfortable! We didnt even sleep the whole night , we went outside Starbucks and 7 eleven to chill and wait for sunrise. Sun moon lake was such a beautiful place but whoever to come to sun moon lake, do not stay in this b&b. ( there are whole lot of hotel nicer and comfortable ) tanxiang is not a hotel / resort at all. Dont get Fool by its name *resort or Hotel*I cant even say , it is too terrible. I cant accept it.

  MAJOR SCAM

  We have paid about USD90 for the 4 of us for a night stay. We were warned by the locals on our way however due to the "no refund policy", we had to fork out additional expenses on another hotel closed by. The reason being, he placed us a few blocks on the 1st floor of a restaurant with the rest of the room unoccupied/doors left unattended. Safety reason/spooky environment. After complaining, we were moved to another room above the fruit stand which makes no difference, all the rooms were empty & doors left ajar unattended. Overall, very uncomfortable stay. We decided to spend additionally to stay at a closer by hotel which cost us less than USD50 for all of us. My advice is get the locals advice & book at the doorstep.

  Only stay here if there are no other options

  This is not a hotel or a resort near the waterfront, but rather a dodgy hostel located near the 7-Eleven on the main road. It is unbelievable that the rating on Booking.com is so high. Location is good, but thats it. The reception is located behind a fruit stall, but most rooms are in other buildings. The rooms are not as light and clean as advertised in the owners pictures, but in a much worse condition. Our room was on the first floor above a restaurant and the entrance to the staircase was in the back of this restaurant. It was noisy, not clean, the furniture has seen better times and the sheets and towels were torn. We only spend time in the room to sleep, so we managed for two nights (also because most other hotels were fully booked). But if your budget lets you, I would highly recommend you to stay somewhere else. If you decide to stay here, dont pay for the breakfast! There are better places nearby for that.

  Friendly accommodations..

  Stayed overnight... The room is decent... The place is accessible to the son moon lake area... Grandpa the owner is very hospitable despite of the language barrier... If you are on a backpackers budget and always out and need a place to sleep this may be a good spot for you...
