  Great find; millennial-friendly

  I stayed here 4 nights, and wow, I felt lucky to have found this hotel for my first trip to Taipei. This hotel reminded me of a really nice hostel except with private rooms. I liked it much better than the more prestigious and centrally located Cosmos Hotel where I stayed the night before. Basically despite its budget price, the whole hotel was in great condition and nearly spotlessly clean, two things that matter a lot to me in a hotel. On top of those, other positives: - Friendly staff - Free self-service laundry - Lounge with indoor and outdoor seating, a computer, tea, coffee, and free sandwiches on Friday and Saturday (see picture) - Room bathroom, especially rainfall showerhead - I liked the location - see more below What would make it even better: - View from the room: My room faced another so I had to close my shade for privacy - Room was very small but fine for one person with carry-on luggage - Could hear noise in the hallway from my room, including elevator. Not enough to disturb my sleep. - Lacking shared amenities of 4-star and up hotels like gym, spa, onsite restaurant, etc. - A bit strict about check-in and check-out time; understandable for a fully booked hotel - Could be even less expensive Location within Taipei depends on what you're into. On location benefits: I loved the surrounding neighborhood, and the hotel is about 100 meters from an MRT (subway) station on a line useful for sightseeing. The hotel is also a good jumping off point to many sights I wanted to see -- basically all of Tripadvisor's "Taipei in 3 Days" Day 1 activities. If you most want nightlife, Elephant Mountain and/or the Maokong Gondola, you're best off staying near Taipei 101. This hotel is 40 minutes and more by public transport from all of that. Lastly, worth knowing that this hotel has a sister hotel, Tango Inn Ximen. That's smack in the middle of a neighborhood known for shopping and gay bars, and closer to Taipei's urban sightseeing.

  Company stay

  This hotel is not under hotel category but b&b/inn under TripAdvisor. I was expecting full hotel amenities like its sister hotel in Taichung but found some differences: 1) no breakfast 2) no bathrobe 3) smaller room It is located right opposite jiantan MRT. I normally prefer to stay in the shopping belt if given a choice. This hotel is close to the Shilin night market. Staff are helpful and friendly, facilities are new and trendy. There is free laundry & dryer on site and a coffee lounge available throughout the day for guests. Also Toto automated toilet is cool, strong water pressure, good soundproofing in room and comfortable bed contributes to a pleasant stay. This would be a good choice if one wants to be in Shilin area.

  silent hotel at the busiest night market

  The hotel is close to MRT station and famous night market. The entrance and the lobby is low-profiled and doesn't even feel like a hotel. The decoration is simple and stylish. The room is not spacious but everything seems efficiently arranged. There are many electric sockets at the desk, which is very convenient for people travelling with digital products. The shower room and toilet is clean; the washlet is of good quality and very comforting. Instead of breakfast buffet, there was only a light meal bar behind the lobby, which is good for those who get up late 'cause it's open 24-hour. Although the hotel is close to the road and night market, soundproof windows shut all noise out and we all slept sound without any disturbance. However the wall doesn't seem thick enough and we can hear neighbors talking in the morning.

  Great find for a very pleasant and convenient hotel.

  Ive stayed at a number of hotels in Taipei. Many of them are quite good. This hotel was a new find on the recommendation of a friend. The hotel is smaller but upscale and very accommodating. The staff are very nice and the rooms are nicely. appointed. Rates were reasonable and the hotel did provide a breakfast Ill be at not as lavish as some of the other properties in the city. Would definitely stay here again in the future. Probably the best part is that the hotel is literally across the street from the MRT making getting around on public transportation easy.

  Very accessible Hotel

  Tango Inn was a very comfortable and clean stay. Just opposite the train station and walking distance to Shilin. Staff were very helpful. Walls can get a little thin and so if your neighbour is noisy, it might be disturbing. But otherwise, excellent. Pantry was helpful for drinks.
