    Love this place!

We love this resort so much. The staff is so friendly, the rooms are clean, the shower pressure was amazing (on the top floor). Live music and beautiful pool, close to the lake. Repeat customers! We even found a cute little cove, by kayak.

    Tanglewood trip 2020

We spent 10 days at the resort with our church. The food was wonderful. The rooms were comfy and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The staff was amazing! They were so accommodating! We have stayed there twice and both times it has exceeded our expectations

Could not wait to leave here

My husband and I literally just returned from here yesterday, and have promised to NEVER return. It was a horrible vacation experience. We unfortunately were staying here at the same time as a large church group. Check in time is 4p, and we arrived after 5p after a long day of traveling. The front desk told us our room was not ready, which should have been the first clue that the entire trip was going to suck. We were asked to go downstairs to the sports bar for some dinner until the room was ready. Even though I was really irritated, we went downstairs an ordered some food and drinks. Irritation time #2 happened when the guy taking our order couldn't understand the difference between french fries and tater tots, or salsa and ketchup. I asked 3 times for ketchup before I got any. This would have been understandable if the place was busy, but we were 1 of 2 groups that opted to sit outside on the patio at the time. The food was not great, and the drinks were terrible for a sports bar, but we didnt have a whole lot to choose from. Before we had gotten our food the lady from registration came down to the sports bar with some room keys and told us that they had a cancellation, and she had found an "upgrade" for us, for the inconvenience. She said she gave us a "lakeview" unit, and it was ready immediately. We thanked her, ate, and then went to the unit with assistance from the desk. This is where the rest of the week we stayed here really went downhill. We get to the unit on the 3rd flr, and realized that we had really had not been upgraded at all. We were originally planning to travel here with friends for the week and had booked a 2 bedroom unit, but they had an emergency and couldnt make the trip; lucky for them. The unit we got was a one bedroom unit. We were never told that the unit was being downsized as well. And I'm not sure what their definition of lakeview is, but this unit was far from lakeview. We saw the lake through the trees that blocked the view. By this time it was almost 2 hours after we had originally arrived at Tanglewood, and were tired after a 2.5 hr flight and a 1.5 hr drive from the airport to get there. We were extremely irritated, but settled in for the evening. Day 2--we were sitting in the living room area and all of a sudden heard buzzing in the windows. There were about 6 wasps flying around the living room and in the windows! I am allergic to insect stings, so I called maintenance to help. No one ever came. My husband spend most of day 2 killing the wasps and flies coming into the unit from somewhere--no idea how they kept coming in. We did not have the patio door open or the windows open at all. I finally found a flyswatter under the sink, and my husband spent the majority of the day killing wasps so I wouldn't get stung, and the flies. Needless to say, maintenance never showed. My husband called them again, and they acknowledged that they received my request but were too busy to come because they were dealing with another issue. I guess it tool all day to tend to that other problem. Day 3--one of the toilets overflowed, just because. Again, maintenance was called for the emergency. This time a guy came, without any thing to fix the problem with, but came to see how much damage was being caused, The entire dining area and part of the living room had toilet water all over the floors. I was beyond furious at this point, and ready to pack and leave. The guy kept apologizing and said he would send housekeeping to come clean the floors after he used the wet vac, which they did. It was the only time housekeeping probably was in that unit even before we arrived. While he was there, w told him about the wasp situation the day before, and how no one ever showed up. He went on to explain how another unit recently had the same issue, and they had to get rid of 100s of wasps in one unit. WHAT????? He explained that they were looking for somewhere warm to come in because the weather was cooling down. I left the room before curse words came out of my mouth. He ended going to get us a can of wasp repellent and told us that fly swatters were under the sink. Thanks for nothing dude. Upon further inspection of the unit, I found that there wasnt broom to sweep with, so no way to clean the floor; the dishwasher didnt wash the dishes clean at all, and most of the dished we used for cooking and eating were sitting in the cabinets dirty. When you turn on the hot water, the pipes made noise, and whoever painted in there last was a complete slob, and never took down the green painters tape from around the ceiling fan in the living room. We ventured out to get breakfast twice while there. All of the paperwork said breakfast was being served at the steakhouse in the morning, but we walked over and it was closed. We finally asked someone who worked there and was told it was in the sports bar. They gave us a breakfast menu with 4 items on it. I ordered the breakfast "parfait" and hashbrowns. Parfait to me means yogurt or granola comes with the fruit. All I got was some cut up fruit, some honey, and some salty hashbrowns. No parfait in sight. We were told the big church group left them depleted of wheat bread and jelly that my husband couldnt have with the breakfast he ordered from the menu that was given to us, and there was nothing else left to add to my fruit parfait. Good time. On the 6th day of the trip, we attempted breakfast again, this time at the steakhouse, but we had to walk around to find that out. There wasn't a person in sight. At the steakhouse, I heard someone talking in the kitchen, and knocked on the door, because the place was completely empty. The waitress came out and said they had reserved 2 tables in case someone wanted breakfast. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves. This time, not only was cantaloupe the only fruit left, but instead of jelly, the waitress informed us that she could "dig around to see what they might have back there". Apparently, no food was ordered for the other guests staying at the resort after the church group left. We ordered breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and orange juice, and was shocked that most of it made it to the table. As a travel agent, I was mortified by this resort. I would never bring clients here. My husband and I read the reviews of this place before spending the time and money to come here, and felt completely duped. The tower was not open, and I could count on one hand how many cars were in the parking during the week we spent there. The worst experience ever. I am glad our friends couldnt make it because I would be embarrassed to bring them there. Totally not what we are used to at a "resort", and completely shocked that Interval has this as an option.

    Highly recommend!

Over the 23 years we've been married, we've stayed at Tanglewood at least a dozen time to celebrate anniversaries and for quick getaways. That should speak volumes but I'll go ahead and elaborate a bit. I had flowers delivered to Tanglewood and they were in our room waiting when we arrived along with a nice Happy Anniversary card, nice touch. Check-in is always quick and painless as is check-out. We stayed in the Beatles room in the tower. We loved all of the Beatles memorabilia and the view is excellent. In the Tower, each suite takes up that entire floor so you have lake views on three sides, gorgeous. We had dinner at the Commodore Steakhouse, both of our meals were excellent. Lunch at Barnacles, great little sports bar and my wife loves the frozen margaritas. Tanglewood meets our expectations each and every time we stay there.

    Highly recommend

We stayed in the master villa suite last night. It was perfect! Monica Wolf was amazing & helped us with the reservation. The front desk girls were also very nice & helpful. They checked on us throughout our stay and answered any questions we had. We ate at the commodore for dinner & breakfast. Outstanding service & food. We will definitely be bringing our family back to stay again!! Highly recommend!!
