  Hope to go back for an extended stay!

  This place exceeded my expectations for value and quality! We stayed right after Christmas on weekdays, so the price was super affordable. The location was easy walking distance to shops and cafes. The hotel itself was everything I would expect for a 19th century renovated farmhouse - with each room being totally unique in the building we stayed in. There were 6 of us, so we took 3 rooms. Our bathroom was a bit cramped but I totally didn't mind. The view of the lake from our room was beautiful, and we were blessed with several inches of fresh snow during our first night and all the next day! Breakfast was included and at a normal time of 8-10am with everything a person could want and SO very tasty. Dare I say the best hotel breakfast on the planet? They gladly accommodated our vegan in the group as well. Coffee and treats were offered through the day in the main lodge's cozy sitting area and were most welcome when coming in from playing in the snow! Finally, the staff was so friendly and helpful and accommodating. Very easy check in, and check out. Hope we have a chance to stay there again sometime!

  Good hotel in fantastic location

  We spent two nights in Tallberg on may 2018. The hotel is an old woodenmade building with traditonal decorations an charming furniture. They gave us an upgrade large room with a nice balcony overlooking the lake and the countryside. The room - very comfortable - was old style furnished with three windows and really sunny. Bathroom with shower was a little small. Great breakfast. I suggest this accomodations for good position in Dalarnia, near Mora, Orsa, Rattivk, Falun.

  Great dinner

  We had a very nice dinner here. The service was great. Not only did we get information about the dishes but also about the hotel and the area. They source most things locally. The view was fantastic and the food was great. I can really recommend this restaurant.

  Charming hotel

  We, a family of four, stayed here in July. On arrival, the lady in reception was very friendly and helpful, immediately providing a map and indicating the beach for swimming and several shops and cafes. The hotel is extremely charming, with traditional Dalarna murals and painted furniture in the dining room, and a veranda facing Lake Siljan in which to sit in an evening to watch the sun set. Our rooms were in an an adjacent red-painted cabin, and although the decor was a little 1980s in style, they were comfortable and clean. A lovely place to stay.

  3 nights with the worst service we have ever experienced, a dirty bathroom and low quality food

  I am posting the below review after having sent it to the hotel the day before our departure to give them the possibility to do sth about it which they did not take (we were told on check-out that the owner would respond via email but he never did). We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The rooms are quite simple and in strong need of renovation, smelly bathroom probably from the 80s which was not properly cleaned, black hair on towels and on the floor. Otherwise the rooms were fine, the buildings are beautiful and very Swedish from the outside. The service level was below anything we have ever experienced after having travelled a lot around the world, no one working here seems to actually like working in the hotel or restaurant, no one ever says hi and everyone tries to avoid any eye contact to avoid needing to help you get seated in the restaurant or order food or drinks. When we arrived at the hotel to check in, it took 15 minutes before someone even came to help us, even though all the staff walked past us. Everyone made an art of not looking us in the eye, so they did not have to help us. When we arrived for dinner the first evening, we first waited for 15 minutes until someone came to show us to the table, again even though all service staff walked past us and no one even said hello. We waited for 1.5 hours before we got food, which was also of very low quality (tasted like a very cheap diner) and one of the dishes was completely cold. We chose to have a drink the night after anyway to give them another chance, and waited for 20 minutes at the bar to order, again even though many of the staff walked by several times without saying hello and obviously very determined to avoid looking us in the eye to avoid helping us. We thought we would give you a last chance and came to dinner the last day, also because the views from the restaurant are very nice. Again we waited for 15 minutes standing without anyone helping us. When somebody finally helped us we were told that we had to wait in the bar for the 20minutes until our reservation. The restaurant was almost empty, maybe 4 tables of a total of around 30 were taken. We had to wait at the bar again for 15 minutes before anyone helped us there. When our booked time had arrived, of course, no one picked us up. So after 20 minutes after we had booked a table, we asked one of the staff if we could order food. She said she would ask and then never came back before we left 30 minutes later. It was clear to us that she avoided us as well, because I tried to make eye contact with her several times after, but she very obviously took another path into the building and avoided all eye contact. To be clear, we had been waiting for 1 hour at our table by now. It is completely unacceptable for a restaurant, especially for a restaurant that is in the White Guide, to have this service level and we are extremely disappointed about this experience, which ruined the last 3 days of our trip. If you are reading this and are planning a trip to Tällberg, we would recommend a visit to restaurant and hotel Åkerblads instead, where we had dinner the two last nights and our friends were staying at. Food and drink prices were the same as in Tällbergsgården and service and food quality were a completely different class.
