Great Location for a Freat Time

A beautiful resort surrounded with beautiful mountains and parks offering a wide variety of activities. Close to quaint little towns with great shops and restaurants. Also close to Greenville and activities like biking on a great rail trail.

    Quiet, beautiful get-away

Are you feeling the need for some quiet time in a beautiful mountain setting. This is the place. The resort is on a golf course reviewed on Golfadvisor as a 4 out of 5. But i don't golf. What I do like to do is walk around in a beautiful setting. What used to be a 800+ acre farm was turned into a time-share resort with a golf course in 1982. It passed through several owners before becoming an RCI/Wyndham property. Three years ago the current owners came in and the place has done nothing but improve since the change. They are continually working on the course to make it more enjoyable to play, lots of nice long fairways with water hazards and changes in elevation. My wife and I have been coming to this resort since it opened. It's never been better. The rooms are being renovated and the furniture in many units are updated. This place is in a valley surrounded by small mountains and it's always beautiful. There's a waterfall on the property that can be accessed by the golf course's cart paths. Each unit is a two story town home style condo with two bed rooms and 2 1/2 baths, full kitchen and open concept dining room and living room. This is our "go to" location for seeing our family. This year we've been here for our "owner week" and two other times when we rented a condo. Rates are very reasonable and it's great to get a condo instead of a hotel for the same price. I won't go on and on about the scenery. I'll let the photos do the talking. These are views of the sunset from the second fairway on December 28th and the falls. Oh, and they are pet friendly for an additional fee. Take a trip down Scenic Highway 11 and turn into the Rock Golf Club and Resort to make it a lovely week-end or week. Just gotta say, I love it.

    great getaway week

Condo lot bigger than thought- despite the rain, still able to play 2 rounds of golf- only problem was no restaurants within 10 miles for 1st 3 days-great place for couples getaway but not much to do if you have kids

    Beautiful

My husband and I enjoyed a week of hiking with our border collies. The townhouse was clean and quiet. We also enjoyed walking the golf cart paths. It rained this week so we did not play golf. We also enjoyed downtown Pickens. We will go again.

Lovely location for hiking with a dog

The resort is conveniently located with lots of state and national forest of land nearby to hike and view. The amenity of getting a state park pass to use is very nice since admission is often $6/person/visit. We especially enjoyed Table Rock State Park, though there's many nice trails in upstate SC and nearby National Forests in NC. Hiking around the adjacent grounds is also very pleasant. The resort is very dog friendly, as are the nearby parks. The condo itself is a very comfortable size and nicely decorated, though some of the furniture and beds could use updating. Friendly staff that responded very promptly to minor items needing maintenance.
