    Atrocious receptionist

Had stayed here first night. No problems, friendly service from 2 receptionists. Checked out and got luggage stored for our Fuji climb. We were to get same room the day after. We spend a night on the mountain, no sleep, get back before 9 to see if maybe our room was ready early even though normal check-in is 3'clock. We are greeted by a third receptionist on this day. It takes me quite a while to get him to (somewhat) understand the situation and our request. He denies with the words "3 o'clock and promptly leaves for his office behind the front desk. I actually had to use the bell to get him out again even after he left me still trying to talk to him. I wanted to get our luggage so we could change clothes. He very arrogantly kept telling me where i could leave my luggage if i wanted it stored. It took me ages before he realized his mistake and then without a word walked past me and opened a door where i could find my luggage. It was in an unlocked (visible from reception) conference room. We accept that rules are rules and we wait. We tried to sleep in the common area and also went out for lunch. Around 2 o'clock a family walks in and checks in (i could hear from my half sleep in the common area). I walk to the reception to find one of my first smiling receptionists now manning the front desk. He happily lets us check in. Our very same room from before had been ready for us since yesterday... The place is kinda run down but alright. Breakfast OK, cleaning lacklustre and service apparantly ranging from friendly to sadistic.

Old, Dirty, Worn - but good food

Traditional Japanese ryokan at the base of Mt Fuji. Price was high as it was climbing season. The room was dusty, smoky and not in good repair. Toilet had mold in it. Fouton beds were thin. On the upside it has a nice onsen and the traditional dinner was good. Not a place Id return to.

    Old but nice

A bit mixed feeling.. the room was really nice and clean. The rest of the hotel needs a bit of renovation.. nice onsen, but also a little to used. Receptionist speaks hardly any English.. tried to get a room upgrade - to move to a room with a few and private onsen, but the communication was not possible. Overall nice place to stay a few days!

Fujino yado Ohashi is small ryokan with friendly service like stay home. There are 3 floors several different room type. My select is Fuji view with open air private bath . Dinner is good with fully serve by staff. Breakfast is include in package and good taste. Parking is near and free.
