A picturesque hotelWe stayed here for one night after a lovely walk and we were met by the friendly owner. Our room was spacious, light, clean and neat what do you need more. Later that evening we had dinner in the restaurant which was quite lovely and tasteful. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay.

Nice place, but busy during summer seasonWe visited this place for a coffee on a tuesday in october. Even that day is was very busy outside. Inside however, a lot of space to sit. Nice service and fresh waffles. Price was a bit on the high end. But on the other way, all locations in Veere are expensive.

Perfect solution for family cycling in late spring; excellent lobster dinnerLast minute decision to spend a few days cycling with children in Holland- found this hotel and it looked like it would suit. I exchanged emails in english with the owner late a night (rapid response) to discover we could arrive with car and bike trailer, park easily (5 min walk away for 6 euro total for 5 days), and they could provide bike trail maps- Perfect. We travelled from Hull - Zeebrugge and the drive to Veere was easy (approx 90 mins) via toll tunnel. We arrived earlier than reported check-in time but our room was ready so we moved in. We cycled on the first afternoon to Middleburg. Cycling is amazingly easy, safe and unpolluted; Zeeland is lovely; the Oosterschelde lobster has a short season but coincided with our stay- the hotel restaurant was really excellent. Everywhere else we ate in Veere was lovely: de Werf (twice) and another place on the harbourside. The town is predominantly pedestrianised which makes it quiet, safe and pleasant to walk. The church bells toll every half hour with full-on melodies (not at night) which is quaint. Cycling was plentiful- we went as far as Westkapelle on our last day through farm land and woods, and back via touristy Domberg and the sand dunes. The lake at Veere can be bathed in. There is sailing to do here if you like that. It's lovely. The museum at the flood barrage was very expensive (80 euro for 4) but as interesting and a reasonable way to escape the torrential rain on one morning. I highly recommend Zeeland, cycling and Veere. This hotel was functional for us in a family room. The restaurant was great. (Breakfast was limited; fresh bread and pastries were gone by 09.00). The staff were friendly and helpful.

Excellent from start to finishNicely decorated, spacious room. Room and bathroom spotless and excellent bed for a good night's sleep. Restaurant has a nice ambiance, jazzy background music, soft light, friendly but efficient service. The chef's menu and the wine pairing was excellent and very good value for money. I will certainly be back!

Another excellent mealOur second visit in two weeks and, again, an excellent culinary experience. The restaurant was virtually full, giving a warm ambiance which was accentuated by the friendly welcome. Our simple two course menu of a tomato and paprika soup followed by , for my wife a beautifully presented dish of zeeduivel (monkfish) and for me a delicious pork chop, was accompanied by an excellent white Rioja (Sonsierra bodega). The chevalier du tastevin played also the role of waiterl and remembered our earlier visit (perhaps because we were unfortunate then to have received a corked wine - which was immediately replaced!) and, as previously, served us perfectly professionally with a full description of the menu and friendly attentive service. All in all an excellent restaurant at a reasonable price! We will definitely re-visit.
