  It was ok

  The staff are friendly. The place is ok inside. It's an old building and outside is not for kids. The family room is big enough for 2 kids and 3 adult. You can walk to harbor and around the city. You can see from the rooftop the harbor. Bus station is close to hotel..

  A bit dodgy but the beds were comfortable

  The location was...interesting. My daughters did not feel comfortable, at all. When we got to our room (no lifts, FYI), it was obvious that our neighbors were enjoying themselves loudly and with quite a few sound effects. It was disconcerting to say the least and really set the tone for our night at the Wattle. The beds were actually comfortable (not going to think about that) but I would not recommend this hotel to families or anyone traveling with children. I wish I had checked the TA reviews before booking - our experience seemed pretty par for the course. If you just need a nights stay and you arent planning on using the room for more than sleeping, youll be fine. If you want to stay for longer than a night, I would encourage you to stay elsewhere. Also, try to book in the family room. Our room was huge and from the other reviews, it seems like it is the most well-kept.

  Lovely little spot, great location!

  This hotel is in the perfect location to soak up Sydney's atmosphere. With it's beautiful clean rooms and friendly staff it's a place I would happily stay again. The little rooftop garden has a magnificent view of the city and is a lovely spot to reflect watching the city pass by.

  Wonderful Location

  Great location! We had a free room upgrade and the beds are really soft and comfy. The washroom could do a little bit of cleaning but everything works nicely. For people with heavy bags, unfortunately there's no lift in the building. Overall, would recommend the place because of the value for money at such a great location. Amenities also include the oven, fridge, and a large tv. Wifi is good as well.

  Budget friendly, comfortable and quiet in a fantastic location.

  I was a bit worried about staying here, after reading some reviews, however it was clean, quiet, comfortable and a wonderful location. Check in was easy and yes, there are stairs but that was expected. We stayed in the Penthouse and air con was quiet and effective. The room was private from the adjacent terrace with blackout blinds on the outer sunroom/breakfast bar area. The room is split level so if you can't tackle the stairs, don't book this room. The mattress is not on a base but the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom is a bit squeasy but modern with a big shower and perfect for our short stay. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I felt completely safe in the building and outside. A super friendly environment. It happened to be the start of the Mardi Gras when we arrived so was expecting to hear lots of noise at night but it was quiet with the noise confined to the bars. The shops around the hotel also did not impact our stay which other reviews have made mention of as they were both closed quite early. Plenty of eating places nearby and a very short walk to Museum Station or to the bus stop outside the door. If you happen to be there for the Mardi Gras parade, you have hit the jackpot as the view from the roof towards Oxford Street is great. There is also great city views as well. The terrace was clean and being a small hotel, we felt like we had exclusive use of it as we only ever saw one other group up there, at a time we weren't using it. This is a long review, as I feel that this place has been mis represented by some reviewers. All of this is in the context of the price you pay for this accommodation. For the price, absolutely no complaints. In my opinion it offered what a 3 star place should. If you want 5 star features, pay for them.
