  Quirky lodge near the airport

  We spent two nights here after we missed the flight. home And we thoroughly enjoyed it. There'a only a couple of rooms which are very well furbished and clean. The team at the lodge is great: the cook is excellent and the efervescent lady that runs the place very friendly. The lodge also has quite a few camping places, some kudus and springbok are roaming the place along with a pony and two friendly dogs, there's even a kids playground. And a pool which wasn't yet functioning when we were there. All in all highly recommended if you just want to relax or if you need a base outside of town.

  An amazing camping experience

  We were here for two nights and we were happy that we chose this as our destination. Our fully equipped tents were very neat and tidy and was more than we expected. It was very peaceful and quiet and in the evening the sounds of the wild animals made us fall asleep. In the mornings, we were greeted by a pony whose company we enjoyed, as it was friendly and cute. The Braai-facilities were excellent. We spent time walking around a bit and relaxing. The area at the time received rain and offered a variety of vegetation. We enjoyed the mild climate accompanied by clouds, very few hot times and comforting rain moments. Our hosts were very friendly, kind and helpful. Definitely a place we will visit again in the future.

  Such a warm welcome and culinary highlight at the end of tour

  This was just supposed to be the last overnight stop at the end of our tour in order to get closer to the airport. We didnt expect much and then we were really overwhelmed by such friendly and caring hosts, Marlie and Sven including their very cute dogs and pony. We enjoyed a very personal and dedicated service. For dinner Sven cooked an incredibly delicious 3 course menu for us which included as a main course the best fillet (chateaubriand) we ever got in Namibia .. where in fact you rarely get bad quality. Thanks for your great hospitality

  Short but pleasant stay

  Very friendly atmosphere and warm welcome! Food by Sven, the German Chef was amazing! Great selection of books you - something we didnt expect but enjoyed very much. Rooms are okay and spacious with large beds.

  Very friendly and totally supportive

  Whoever is planning to start or end the vacation near Windhoek should stay here. Marlie and Sven are perfect hosts. We arrived with our kids, which were sick and had our flight only one day later very late. They were so supportive that we could stay until early afternoon to recover before the long flight back started. Besides that wonderfull dinner and a nice location to relax! We con only recommend the Sweet Thorn Lodge. Derk, Ursula, Felix and Moritz W.
