  Hard to deal with

  We booked an overnight as we were going to a wedding at a venue close by. Unfortunately COVID19 and it's Federal and State restrictions caused the wedding too be postponed. As we had no idea how long the situation would take to resolve, I contacted the resort to ask for a refund. The person I spoke to " Jesse" clearly had no authority to make a simple decision such as this and said he would ask management. Two days later he called to offer a credit to use later, which I didn't want under the circumstances. He then said I could have a "refund" but it would cost me $50 admin fee. After another three phone calls, threatening to make a formal complaint to Consumer Protection on my part and various "technical issues" on theirs, I did eventually get my money back in full but it shouldn't have been that hard. Will stay elsewhere when the wedding finally takes place!

  Never again.

  Ive used Expedia all over Australia and every time Ive every booked hotels and flights.... never have I had the experience I had at Swan Valley Oasis Resort. The receptionist (who I think was the owner) could not find our booking and asked when I made it. I told her last week through Expedia. She got very annoyed immediately and started saying how booking through external sites is driving hotels bankrupt as they undercut the tariff price. I told her that was the idea of it and that maybe she shouldnt advertise on the site! She then told me the hotel has a policy of charging 20% extra on check in if you book through an external agency. There was no way I was paying that!!!! Another couple were in the exact same boat as us sitting in the foyer. In the end she let us stay and upgraded us to a spa room which was allegedly worth $195 a night. A tiny room with a tiny tv and a spa my partner would have to curl up in just to be in there by himself. I am emailing Expedia direct about the 20% extra issue but want all fellow travelers to be warned!!

  Couldn't honour their booking

  We booked our room with 4 weeks notice through Booking.com, which we also opted to pay our booking upfront through the website. We got a phone call 4 days before our booking from Swan Valley Oasis saying that they had no record of the booking, or the payment and that they were fully booked out now and could not honour our booking! They messaged us from booking.com to confirm our booking, we also called a week ago to ask for early check-in which was confirmed... they clearly oversold the venue. 4 days notice and all we got was sorry.. you'll have to contact booking.com to get your money back. It was great that they admitted it was their fault but at least they could have offered something for totally stuffing us around. They obviously didn't need our money ... maybe they don't need yours?!?

  Beautiful grounds but a disappointing stay

  For a hotel that we had high expectations for (given we paid close to $550 for two nights)we were very disappointed. Our room was very small/basic and resembled more of a motel room than a spa suite. Our room was not cleaned at all during our stay which was disappointing as we had to use our bath towels down at the pool (as we found out the hotel does not provide pool towels).The customer service was fairly average and we had to wait around the reception area for a good 15 minutes just for a staff member to come to reception despite ringing the bell multiple times and seeing staff members in the back of house area. Aside from this I have to stay the location was great, there was ample hotel parking and the resort grounds are well kept.

  Great location, expensive for what you get

  We booked the swan valley oasis for a few birthday celebrations up in the swan valley area. We paid extra for a pool view spa room which wasnt pool view at all it over looked the golf course. It was noisy with people from the restaurant wheeling bins through early in the morning. The chatter from the golf course: the room at $250 per night was over rated. The hand towel rail and the hook on the back of the door stuck with sticky tape, there was a hole in the wall, the fly screen onto the balcony had giant holes in it. They dont give you enough shampoo, conditioner and soap! The location is fantastic walking distance to the local breweries , short drive to Ellenbrook, the supa golf and mini golf awesome! Bed was comfy!
