  A must stay (with or without Zao Fox Village)

  We wanted to visit Zao Fox village and head back to Tokyo same day but we wanted to explore the area a bit more so decided to start looking for places in the area. The pictures looked great and so we booked expecting a decent experience. Boy were we wrong, it was a fantastic experience!!! The staff treated us like royalty providing anything we need (including calling a taxi to and a return trip from Zao Fox Village.The rooms were spacious with authentic decor. But my favorite part was the baths, they had 2 per gender and both helped us coin the term "Luxuriate" thanks to their awesome facilities. Overall the staff, location, amenities and food were worth far more than the respectable price I paid for it. Do yourself a favor, don't just day trip to the area, spend the night here and prepare to look down at every other place you stay at on your trip.

  Amazing!

  We stayed here due to the onsen, the fox village and it was considerably cheaper then the other hotels around. The rooms were fantastic they are traditional rooms and they looked so nice. Breakfast was included with the rooms and was decent. Dinner was a bit pricey for us at 3000 yen. But they do have a shop with ramen etc. The onsen was very relaxing and they provided us with the clothes and towels as well. They came up in the morning to inform us that breakfast was ready. When leaving they asked for a photo which we were happy to give and all the staff waved us goodbye in the taxi that they had arranged for us. Would 100% recommend people to stay here!

  Wonderful and unforgettable!

  We stayed there in march 2017, looking for the best place to enjoy onsen, rotenburo and traditional ryokan experience. What a good choice we made! Staff is rarely seen-like welcoming, making everything for your stay to be the most pleasant. Even among Japanese sense of service, this place reaches the top level at a more than reasonable price. The two bath for mens are large and perfectly maintened day and night. Every furniture are provided and I enjoyed a fully relaxing time in the outdoor bath, watching the starry sky! The food course is wonderful as well, very high quality ingredients and many different taste. I can still remember the delightment of the meal with my friend. If you are walking Miyagi-ken and wish for the best experience, you should definitely go to Suzukiya. Thanks to all the staff for making those two days unforgettable.

  Great service and roof top onsens

  The staff were very friendly and went out of their way for us! The onsen baths were nice and clean and hot! The breakfast was interesting with lots of traditional options (served in your room). They also offer transport to Shiroishi at a very small fee.

  beautiful experience, lovely hosts

  Every worker here was nothing but kind and helpful despite the language barrier. The dinner was amazing, i highly recommend! the public bath areas were lovely and the rooftop one was so charming in the early morning and evening. the location is fairly out of the way, they offer a shuttle service in the morning to shiroishi station and pick up to return at 3pm (im sure the times change so be sure to confirm via email before) you will likely need to take a taxi at some point here. The staff was incredibly sweet, i would return if i ever visit this area again :)
