Pros Far Outweigh The ConsStayed here as a group of four from 22nd - 29th Sept and had a totally fab time in rooms 208 and 212 Yes we were woken every morning at 7am to the sound of church bells. Yes room 208 is very snug and the beds are toe to toe ( two single ladies so thankfully didn't bother us) Yes the fried breakfast aspect "is nowt flash" but edible. However the friendly staff, impeccable cleanliness and amazing location makes up for these shortcomings. The safe and room fridge are complimentary. The safe is an ancient thing in the lobby so you don't have to ask staff to access your belongings. The water is hot and plentiful. There is BBC world news on the tv if sitting in your room on holiday is your thing The continental side of the breakfast is delicious with fresh breads, yoghurt, cereal, ham, cheese, salami, fresh fruit, pastries etc all served by the fab waiting staff. The sun terrace has an amazing view, the rear gardens are so pretty with shaded and sunny spots. We had thunder storms through the night, a half day of "proper" rain and a few cloudy mornings however it was always warm and only needed and thin shawl on one night. The nearby restaurants are all of good quality. There are some fabulous walks around the peninsulars with some hidden gem bars. Make sure you pop in to the Bellevue bar, a tiny affair with beautiful views, on the walk up to the nearby Mausoleum. You can use the pool and facilities at the sister hotel Croatia, however with a bathing platform nearby, crystal clear water and great snorkelling, there is no real need to go there. Catch the water taxi to Dubrovnik, 100 Kuna return and is a great way to see the coastline. Although a small town, Cavtat has loads going for it, a great food and drink place, regular entertainment in the form of bands and singers at the nearby bars, yacht watching, people watching, great walking / sightseeing. There are not very many places we return to. I have stayed in Cavtat once before and wouldn't hesitate to return again in a few years time. So chilled, so welcoming and so beautiful

Lovely short breakMy husband and I have just returned from a lovely short break at Hotel Supetar. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome from the ladies on reception who were helpful throughout our stay. This is a 3 star hotel and the facilities reflect that. However the location by the harbour is ideal and there is a vast choice of good restaurants nearby. You can eat your breakfast overlooking the harbour. We ate a seafood lunch at the hotel which was tasty. Our room was at the front of the hotel again with seaview and we loved the sound of the bells in the mornings. The room was small in comparison to other places and the bathroom was compact (my husband is a big lad) but it was fine for us. You can also use the facilities of their 5 star, sister hotel 'Hotel Croatia'. We spent an afternoon there eating lunch in one of the restaurants. That hotel has impressive views and is huge but we preferred the intimacy of Supetar. Mia and her staff at Supetar do their best for guests to have an enjoyable stay. We would certainly like to return again.

Superb vegetarian foodNo concrete monstrosity, this. Beautiful stone building right on the harbour with very friendly helpful staff and the best vegetarian/vegan choices in town. No pool - but swimming in the crystal clear Adriatic right from the front door. We were there from 17th October and the weather was perfect. I'm a mozzie magnet and this close to the sea was blessedly mosquito free.

excellent hotel, amazing locationstayed here for 7 nights in late October. room was clean, relatively small but big enough and with enough storage for 2 of us for a week. breakfast had an excellent selection of yogurt, pastries, cold meats, and hot food available to order (i think the people who wrote negative comments about breakfast are people who expect everything the same as at home and dont like "foreign food") we used the pool at Hotel Croatia - a 10 minute walk around the bay and up some stairs. Hotel Croatia also has a good area to swim in the sea too (and a nudist beach if you're so inclined) the only negative is that they do not serve breakfast on their amazing terrace.
