We liked the wallabies ...This small B&B has 3 guest rooms and a countryside location, about 3 kms outside the Yarra Valley town of Healesville - in the centre of one of Australia's wine growing regions (the reason for our stay). The property is in grounds overflowing with wildlife. I have never before seen wallabies in the garden of the place I was staying in and there were lots of them. This was certainly a treat; and watching the owner feed her four pet alpacas was also amusing to watch. So what was missing from our stay, to give it just 3 stars? It sounds rather needy but ....we would have liked some warm, human, interaction the alpacas got the better deal on that score. Strangely, I never felt really welcome! This B&B stay could have been really great with a bit more of the personal touch. The owners were available if summoned by bell - they mostly hid themselves away within their own quarters. It would have been nicer to have seen something of them, maybe for a chat at breakfast or for a few minutes in the evening. The continental breakfast was unattended, operating on a DIY basis (earlier reviews indicate it used to be a cooked breakfast). Of course I CAN make tea and my own toast, but I dont necessarily want to on holiday. Our emerald room was a small double room with green furnishings and a rather pointed bed frame (we both caught ourselves on a protruding corner), and an ensuite bathroom separated by a sliding door. There was no plug in the basin - irritating. Outside on the deck the spa pool remained under a heavy cover on both evenings we were there (we did say on arrival that we would like to use it). We had the use of a large, well-equipped and comfortable lounge for our self-prepared picnic evening meal. The property needs no additional features or furnishings (except a basin plug) to be really great - but somehow the warm welcome was missing. Maybe the owners were having an off-day? We understand the business is in the process of changing hands and that may be why everything felt 'detached'. We combined our B&B stay with a guided tour of numerous Yarra Valley winery cellar doors, by Tom (a co-owner of the B&B). Tom told us these tours will continue after the B&B business management changes.

Fantastic Weekend AwayWhat a wonderful little B & B. We went away for Valentine's weekend and it was very enjoyable. We stayed in the Emerald room, although quite small it was well decorated and very clean and chocolates on the bed was a nice touch. We were lucky enough to enjoy the swim spa to ourselves, a perfect temperature in a lovely setting whilst enjoying some wine. The breakfast was lovely, complete with fresh fruits including my favourites (cherries and raspberries) along with pastries, toast, yoghurt and cereal. The owners could not have been more welcoming, when we arrived we were greeted and shown to our room and were told if we needed anything just to ask. We saw alpacas and kangaroos on the property it was such a quiet and tranquil place. We would happily go back and considering the price we thought it was very reasonable.

We could have stayed foreverTom and Jeanette were lovely and welcoming, they were very friendly when asked for help and advice, and also kept to themselves giving us a sense of privacy. We felt at home here and would gladly stay again.

LovelySpent valentines day at this B&B and loved it. Was lucky enough to have the heated spa to ourselves for over 2 hours. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. Will surely be visiting this B&B again in the future. The breakfast included consisted of just about everything you could want.
