  Good location but over priced for quality

  We stayed here in December 2013. At A$220 a night it was the most expensive accommodation we stayed in during our trip. The owner bought it in 1988 and I would guess that the kitchen and bathroom have not been modernised since. The beds were comfortable and the bedroom curtains have good blackout curtains. There is a private courtyard with a good BBQ and outdoor furniture. The kitchen is pretty well equipped though there is no dishwasher and annoying no coffee maker or caftiere. We chose the accommodation as it is well located for Scarborough amenities. You can get by without a car as there is a good sized Coles supermarket nearby and the bus routes start from outside the shopping precinct. The beach and sea are beautiful and just a short walk away. Back to the accommodation - there are an amazing amount of rules in the apartment - all about cleaning, not moving furntiure, not using things for this, that and the other etc. Interestingly despite all these rules we had a mouse in occupancy in the kitchen. The owner gave a long explanation bout previous guests leaving doors open, laid bait, set traps and sealed the back door. In the end however on our last morning we had to deal with a dying mouse on the floor (we had to deal with it as the owner was away). When we emailed to say we had caught it and dealt with it we got more excuses and not even a thank you for being so understanding. In addition to this we were woken at 4am one morning and 5am another by the owners intruder alarm going off. Again we didn't get any thanks for our understanding only a whole lot of reasons and complaints form the owner that they had been disturbed and had to get up to deal with it!! We paid A$20 for internet access which worked ok. Unlike any other of accommodation on this trip the apartment had carpets (apart from lino in the kitchen) rather than wood floors. Like I say expensive for the quality.

  Great location & beatiful beaches

  This accommodation had everything we needed, full kitchen facilities,a laundry, private courtyard close to supermarket & beaches. John the owner was very helpful with his knowledge on what to see and do around Perth. I would definitely re book this villa again.

  Good base to experience Perth & surrounds

  We had a comfortable & enjoyable homely experience staying at the Sunset Villa for 9 days. It was just nice for our family of 5 (3 kids aged 10, 7 & 6). Definitely better than staying at a hotel. We chose to stay here mainly because of its close proximity to the very beautiful Scarborough beach, Coles & restaurants. It was really very convenient. We rented a car. Big shopping malls like Innaloo & Karrinyup Shopping centres were just a short drive away. We had dinner in the city a couple of times. The drive took about 20-30 minutes, depending of traffic. Most importantly, we got to experience Perth, surrounding areas & attractions (like Swan Valley, Mandurah, Rockingham, Yanchep, Lancelin, Fremantle, CBD etc.) & got to come 'home' to rest, prepare dinner & did some basic chores just like we do them at home. If you like to be pampered & prefer not to do any chores during your vacation, this may not be the kind of accommodation for you. For us it wasn't a big deal. Because we can do our own laundry at the villa, we only packed for 2-3 days for our stay. So we had plenty of luggage space for shopping! :D

  My third time here!

  This time we rented all 3 villas! Although John, the owner was not around, Judy was there to help us with our needs. No problems occured although all villas were fully occupied. We had a great family holiday and felt comfortable all through the week!

  It was a honor to stay there!

  Having children it is hard to find accommodation that suits our needs. But sunset waters was perfect! Made our stay enjoyable as it is like a little house with everything u need! All u bring us cloths & food. Even has a courtyard with bbq & outdoor setting! John the owner was wonderful & we would highly recommend it to anyone. Close to karrinyup & Westfield shopping centres with Kmart, target & big w plus so much more. Coles and the beach is a 2 minute walk down the road, what more could you want! Cheers for the perfect vacation accommodation! We will definitely be staying again.
