Good and healthy foot, quite welcoming, wonderful viewI stayed in this hotel for 9 days. It is very clean and there is a very beautiful garden sourrounding the building, like an oasis in a very built up city. The hotel has a lot of Japanese influence, in terms of food decoration and styling. You can also find in the premises a coffee shop with a big selection of cakes and sweets, and a souvenir shop. I enjoyed various food options, of Nepali and Japanese food. I totally recommend this hotel especially to people on business travel that they need quiet and they want to meet nice and interesting people.

Quiet haven in a chaotic dusty Kathmandu city.In February 2019, I organized a trip for Artist Late Brad Braune and his 14 students and friends. The two- week tour was planned for sightseeing, tours, shopping, interspersed with watercolor painting sessions. The group spent the first 5 days of the trip in Hotel Sunset view. Its a small hotel with less than 30 rooms. located close to the Airport, in a quiet neighborhood. The hotel is graced with a lovely Japanese garden and in season when Wisteria blooms its a paradise. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean, towels and sheets were a little worn out but clean. The manager Eric and Dawa runs the hotel very efficiently. the hotel was slightly understaffed, it could do better with 3 or 4 more service staff. The Japanese restaurant is excellent, we had a lovely Japanese/continental breakfast every morning. There is a lovely coffee shop across the Japanese garden, being in the proximity of the airport was very convenient, the kathmandu traffic is a nightmare. From here going on sightseeing tours, to the airport and getting out of the valley was very convenient. It is inevitable that first-time visitors to Nepal suffer from stomach upset, Luckily having meals in the Japanese restaurant helped and no one was sick. The quiet ambience, the evening sunset, and happy hours left us all with a very pleasant memories of our Nepal trip.

Home away from homeWe stayed here for most of a 3 week stay in May -June and would definitely return. Big beautiful rooms, amazing views, the best setting (nestled in the middle of an urban area but a little garden oasis in the midst), phenomenal helpful staff. The food is really great.

Horrible experienceWorst experience I ever had. I had gone to order some take away in their Japanese restaurant. Once we placed order we wanted to click pic in the garden. We were approached by the hotel staff and told that we are not allowed to click any pics and that only people who stay in the hotel can. I told him we were at the restaurant n order there but apparently we are not allowed to even walk around in the area. It was a humiliating experience and I would never recommend anyone to visit this place.
