  great hotel

  Staying at the Sunset Hotel in Chios was very enjoyable. First off, it was located at a walking distance from the beach which avoided the hassels of finding parking. It was great having a bar/food stand and a shaded patio at the hotel for mid day meals and even dinner. I couldn't start my day without one of their coffee "frappes". The rooms were very nice and always clean. The pool was located on the side of the hotel so there was privacy which was also very nice. The workers and owners of the hotel couldn't of been friendlier and were there 24/7 to answer our questions or give us directions to somewhere on the island. I wont think twice about staying at this wonderful hotel again.

  The position of the hotel is ok - very close to the beach and taverns + bars. If you rooms with view on the sea are ok I guess. If you get room on the other side is terible.. becuse sun will shine direct on the balcony... and its too hot :) So rooms are hot. You cant have the air condition on, because it is located directly in under beds... (cold air is not good for health...). Otherwise rooms are clean. Breakfast is poor.. very day the same.. ham from the tin, cheese a bit of bread and small marmelades + butter. So its kind a borring ! Othervise the island is very very cool! Its a must to rent a car and travel around the island. It si easy to find nice beach where you can be all alone :) Very close to the hotel is taverna PELEKANOS. If you go there say hi to the KOSTA (the ovner) in our name ( MATEJ & SPELA ). So yes, go to Chios and enjoy there !!!

  A hotel room with no frills but clean and convenient for traveling around the island

  This summer I have spent the first part of my vacation in Chios. My boyfriend and I choose Sunset Hotel in Karfas (Chios), due to its position near the beach and restaurants. We had a room with double-bed (comfortable enough) on the upper floor but unfortunately with view to a parking area :-( . The room was nice, quite old but clean with a renovated bathroom. We paid 75euros per night (breakfast included). The hotel has a wonderful pool but we rent a car and travel around to the most beautiful beaches of the island (Mavra Volia, Aghia Fotia, Komi). The staff of the hotel was very friendly and they were there all the time in case we need anything. We really enjoy staying there but next time we will ask for a room with sea view.

  Worst place to stay....

  No one is ever onsite. Dealt with a spider wasp, bees, and flying cockroaches....this hotel is not accommodating! I would not stay there again....ruined my trip! Traumatized me! One night I was afraid to sleep in room with bee called the number they posted if u need anything. They had me walk 12:30 am to another hotel. Not cool!

  nice hotel in Karfas

  We chose this hotel as its price/quality ratio seemed better than other hotels around. Our room was big, clean, had a nice balcony with sea view. The breakfast was very good (even for Turkish standards which demand kinds of cheese and olives). The hotel has a parking lot and is close to the beach. There are good restaurants and tavernas around. We did not use the pool but it seemed clean. The lady (a member of the owner family) in the reception was very kind and answered our questions patiently. The only negative aspect was that there was no wi-fi in the rooms and we could not connect in the loby (perhaps the signal was weak).
