  Don't Stay Here

  You can do better. Our room smelled stuffy, like someone had been cooking in it. The parking lot was gravel, and the ice machine did not work. Others staying at the motel said the ice machine had not worked for days - which is always a bad sign. The morning breakfast was skimpy and inadequate. Pick a nicer place even if it costs a bit more. That's my advice.

  Quiet relaxing night.

  We required an overnight location to spend the night. We chose Sunlac Inn, Devils Lake, from the Expedia directory as the price fit our budget. Check-in went smoothly; room was clean, spacious and as advertised. Small fridge was an added bonus for us. Good selection of TV channels for evening watching. AC worked but Wi-Fi did not. Not sure why Wi-Fi did not work in our room as we were the closest room to the front desk. Tried several times without success to obtain internet access.

  No breakfast !!

  Beautifully remodeled, but lacking customer service. Went out for breakfast at 930 Sunday morning and there was no food to be found. When we asked about it she said breakfast was over at 9. Another couple was there and pulled up the website which clearly states breakfast is from 7-10 on weekends. I politely asked if she could put some waffle batter out for us, she said that she already dumped it and would have to mix up another batch ( I'm pretty sure that it comes in premixed bags). I then mentioned getting some milk for the cereal......nope! Customer service 101 ..... when a small act will keep people coming back, you do it !! Had to go to McDonald's and get my family breakfast when it was supposed to be provided...... Nice hotel, but won't be returning.

  Fun weekend

  Clean comfortable rooms. Breakfast was kinda lame so we went to the Cedar Inn next door. Recently renovated rooms. Friendly helpful staff. The towels could be replaced. Other than that we have no complaints and would stay again.

  (Relatively) inexpensive

  I picked this as it was relatively cheap and I was only passing through. It was clean and everything worked but I felt like I had stepped back in time a bit (though not far enough for vintage/retro vibe). The room was spacious with a couch as well as the bed but I found it a bit oppressive it seemed dark even with all the lights on. That said it was a practical place to stay for one night. The bed was comfortable but the sheets were very thin. Pillows were ok. Spacious breakfast area with hot and cold food.
