  Hotel with a View

  A business trip brought me to Hiratsuka, so I felt slightly out-of-place in this hotel that caters to weddings. I was received with the usual Japanese friendliness. The room was small, but very clean and reasonably functional with a tiny bathroom. The air condition blow a cold stream of ear right onto one of the beds, so I switched to the other one. For breakfast, one had to make a choice the day before between Japanese and Western style. I picked the Japanese and it was very nice and brought me my first experience with Natto. The next day featured a buffet, that could not compete with buffets in bigger hotels, but had a reasonable selection of Japanese and Western items. And yes, there is a view: you can see Mount Fuji. And if you want to get married here: they have a Scottish(!) wedding chapel!

  quaint town with a beautiful views and church

  Loved this place. Very quiet compound perhaps due to the fact that we were there on a Monday. It felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. There were some filming going on the next morning but you can really tell guests were their priority from the way they gave way to us and all. The filming crew doing preparation and rehearsals even left the church compound cos we were exploring and wanted to take some photos. Single room was spacious and clean, though they seemed to have revamped the bathrooms in some rooms and not the others. the bathroom in my friend's room seemed older, but still clean. beautiful view of Mt Fuji and the sunset from the church. it's a pity there laundry was not the usual coin laundry like other hotels as I had expected. Vending machines was available at the hotel. Staff was friendly. Would return again just to enjoy the ambience and serenity.
