    Surely not 4 star

On arrival our first impression was the hotels appearance which was nice but a little dated with carpet corridor areas patched up in places and tiles chipped around outside seating area. This was definitely not a 4 star standard. Room service was excellent and cleaned room on a daily basis with fresh towels replenished. Beds I felt were far too low and any person with bad knees or hips would struggle to get off. TV in the rooms did not have any english channels only French news that was english speaking. Entertainment was limited to 1 hour each night which as the week went on became repetitive and at times quite painful to endure. One night there was 1 game of bingo which lasted for 70 minutes. As we were at the end of the season the outside bar closed 3 days prior to the end our holiday. This was not advertised in any brochure. Bar staff seem to lose all interest in customer relations, the last 5 nights standards dropped and drink measures were shortened and very haphazardly presented. Food was good the first 5 days then standards dropped. There was salad available but as I have paid for a 4 star experience I would expect more choice than chicken nuggets, pizza, fish fingers, meatballs. One day there was not a main meal for a vegetarian, they had put salami on the pizza so choice was taken away.

Nice Hotel , location not good

Hotel is a nice Hotel close to the facilitys local bars and restaurants. Food in Hotel good , two very large swimming pools good for swimmers .Daytime activities plenty going on . Evening entertainment very poor no live music Also close to beach side bars with very loud banging music all day and night upto 4am or even 6am in the morning difficult to sleep Wouldnt go back for that reason and poor evening entertainment

    Riu Helios

Definitely one of the low end of the Riu chain. This place on arrival looked very old, we were disappointed. The staff were very friendly and very good at their jobs. The main restaurant was a nice place to eat, plenty of variety. We did find the daytime eatery near the beach was not so good. The hot food was Luke warm or cold. They would cook plenty in front of you, then put it in catering tins and put on a trolly behind. The food already served was going cold and all the extra was going cold too. I reported this to the Tui rep. The bar service was great. Shopping - never seen so many shops and good bargains too. The beach is across a walkway, great beach and lovey sea ( bit fresh). Sunbeds and umbrellas are 10 lev each per day

    Amazing hotel

So first we visited in Sept 2018. But I just hadn't got round to making a review since. The food was very very good. Maybe not perfect but it's buffet food so you can't really complain too much. Breakfast was nearly perfect and dinner was nice. Teas maybe got a little samely but that was over a 2 week period and buffet, to me, is usually very samey. I did love the Chinese restaurant. Didn't get round to the Bulgarian. Also found out later there's a snack bar but never saw that The drinks are all yummy, best cocktails I've had on all inclusive. The main pool is a little busy but we discovered the 2nd one a few days in and migrated there. It's only a few metres away but much quieter and nicer imo. The location is amazing. I loved the beach being just on our doorstep. Also loved the 2nd bar and theatre area. It wasn't too noisy so you could still have a chat while the disco etc, was going on. My only, minor, issue is that in the 2nd week everything closed nearby (we went from 11/09 - 25/09). Which was a bit of a shame because we loved the little pizza places.

    Lovely hotel

It's a 3 star hotel, but very good, staff can't do enough to help the rooms and hotel very clean, the only reason I haven't given higher stars is our air con was not on and our room was unbearably hot. Due to it not being turned on until later in the month.
