  Good hotel in terrible location

  The basics are all there as far as the rooms are concerned. There seems to be no parking space for vehicles. The restaurant and bar attached to the hotel are quite good. The staff are courteous, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the location appears unspeakable with pot holed roads, crowded noise mini market and a matatu statnd.

  Remake of American Horror Story : Hotel

  Firstly went here due to KQ canceling our flight. Food - just about decent enough for you to survive on (runny beef stew with dry rice and chicken) or you could just walk up the road to KFC to supplement that. Rooms the size of a holding cell, grimy shower with a broken tap handle, mattress felt like a plank topped with foam. One would think with the many KQ flights that are canceled and the guests taken to this place they could atleast take time to clean and stock the rooms. Towels came over an hour later.... No air conditioning but the fan does a decent job of swirling the hot musky air around, you are bombarded by loud conversations and tv from the bar area, early calls to the mosque at the crack of dawn and constant racket from whoever is down the street. Opening the window is pointless as you are just swapping one musty smell for one with exhaust fumes. The Wi-Fi in the rooms is poor at best well atleast it was on the 2nd floor. Oh and lastly the lonely roach skittering along in the bathroom.

  Spent 1 night through transit with Kenya Airways

  Hotel is ok but quite noisy. Could barely sleep overnight. Noise of people talking and what seems to be cleaning/maintenance at 2am resonates in the groundfloor lobby where upper rooms oversee. This make it unbearable. Would not recommend for transit or for resting.

  Great Service and Comfortable Stay

  I recently spent 3 nights at Summerdale ahead of a trip in to South Sudan, followed by two nights after the trip to S. Sudan. I arrived after 1am and the staff (despite the late hour) was incredible. Bellhop promptly took my bags in, check-in was easy, room was clean and comfortable. Even the restaurant and bar offered me food and drink despite it being almost 2am by the time I got up to my room and back down after 16 hours on the road. Staff was helpful in providing recommendations for restaurants, local transportation, and shopping. Arranged short tours for our 4 person group in Nairobi. I found the area to be somewhat away from the main part of town, but the area was walk-able and within reasonable distance to good restaurants and shopping. Uber worked well and most trips were less than 6 dollars to any of our destinations. I would absolutely stay here again! Thanks to the staff for a comfortable stay.

  Ok for a stop over

  Rescheduled flights meant a brief stop at the Summerdake Inn. Check in was easy and the room was clean and medium sized. Clean bedding & towels with a range of toiletries were very welcome. Food in the restaurant was uninspiring, but edible and of a quality you'd expect and there is s small bar area in which to relax. Overall, average all round.
