Apartamento al lado de la playa.
Nos alojamos en este hotel en julio y disfrutamos de un apartamento para 6 personas un grupo de amigos que componen viajefilos. El apartamento era grande y con todos los servicios, cocina, lavadora tv, wifi, a/c..... El hotel dispone de piscina y un bar en ella donde se puede disfrutar de un baño miestras topas un refresco, podéis leer más de la experiencia en Creta en nuestra web http://viajefilos.com/una-semana-recorriendo-la-isla-de-creta-julio-2014/ Aunque se puede disfrutar de la playa a tan solo unos pasos. Lo único es que el hotel esta a unos 20-30 min del centro de la cuidad. Pero el apartamento y su precio eran inmejorables.

A fantastic, warm and friendly place
I highly recommend Summer Dream ! It is such a nice place to stay and you feel so very welcome there from the first moment you arrive. The apartments are very nice and spacious with a modern touch. Great balcony overlooking the pool- area and bar for a relaxed time when needed. I did not try the food at lunch , but my friends did and the say it was delicious :) It is really clean and the ladies are such a joy to meet. Very friendly and good. Also I wanted to take the bed with me home to Sweden, because it was so good and comfy. That is not always the case in other hotels- for sure. And please... vist the bar in the evening to enjoy bar-master Ioannis hospitality and tasteful drinks . A man with a good heart for every guest visiting - altough you think you are the only one. I find the location in town perfect both for a good walk in to old Town about 2,5 km (?) and if you hire a car like we did - there's a good parkingplace just across the street. And you should hire a car actually if possible , because Crete has the most fantastic sceneray to enjoy . Especially in the Mountains. I truly felt that I wanted to stop time and stay for a long , long time :) So people, Try this perfect gem and you will be happy ! Efcharisto Summer Dream team !

Summer Dream hotel was quite run down, had a poor standard and needs an upgrade.
Lets start with the positive. It was a quiet hotel. Shielded from traffic. Good comfortable beds to sleep in. The wifi worked excellent. Summer Dream looks much fresher on their website. Firstly the hotel was quite run down, had a poor standard and needs an upgrade. We noticed that the staff were nice at the start of our stay. When they saw that we rarely made use of the bar and restaurant in the hotel, we saw them as more dismissive. We found, when we returned from the beach the last day, that the door to the storage room was not locked. This was not good. Fortunately, nothing was stolen. The downstairs shower room, which you use to shower and change clothes before going home, was not much to brag about. It was dirty, worn and uninviting. Otherwise there was cleaning 6 days a week. It was forbidden to flush toilet paper down the toilet. This was to be put in a garbage can in the bathroom. The TV had few channels. No Scandinavian channels.

Perfect holiday
We have stayed here for 5 nights and we have only good words to say about this place. It is perfectly located near a supermarket and the beach , they have private parking with shadow from lemon trees , rooms are clean and modern, they have an outdoor central pool with warm and clean water . I advise you to book a holiday here and all that you need to do is to relax and enjoy every day , all the staff is nice and friendly but I want specify that lady Nitsa (from reception) and Ioannis (from the bar) are amazing and they are making their job with passion and make all the possible to make you feel perfect here. Tip 1:in the evening just go open minded and relaxed to the bar and you will have a great time, Ioannis is there for this ! Tip 2: If you are a lady ask for a Mojito or any other cocktail and you will not regret it !

Feeling very "at home" - Would consider long stay if ever back to Rethymno
Two room apartment, a tad dated but kitchen good. No problems cooking dinner etc. Bathroom needs an update for sure but not to bad. I rather have eggs and bacon/sausage in the morning so was quite happy with the breakfast offered. Big supermarket next door was great. Everyone in the staff super friendly. No gym but there where a gym just a few minutes towards old town. Had everything you need, daypass with towel 8 WIFI perfect at my room. Two nights there were powerouts, dont know if it was just hotel or town wide.... All in a nice relaxing week! If choosing in the future ill pick Chania or Agios Nikolaus before Rethymo....and boy do i hate Heraklion airport....
