    NICE BREAK

We stayed here for an enjoyable couple of days, and it is dated and could do with a refurb, but the staff are excellent and the food is very good and plentiful and although it was not on the breakfast menu the wife asked for an omelette and she said it was absolutely gorgeous

Ideal reasonably priced overnight/dinner stop en route to Cotswolds or Oxford

My daughter and I stayed at Sturdy's Castle for 1 night. We arrived to find there was ample parking and were greeted by very friendly staff. The rooms are motel style i.e. room doors facing grassed area in a separate two-story building to the pub/restaurant, Our room was simply furnished but had everything you required, TV, heating, full bath with shower over, toiletries, kettle, iron and ironing board, even a fan. but most of all - extremely clean, quiet and with very comfortable beds. We had dinner in the hotel's pub/restaurant, (there is nothing close by as the building stands alone on the main road, so booking dinner is advisable) the food was well cooked and served with a smile and a friendly chat. If you want accommodation within a drive to the Cotswolds or Oxford, without paying the high prices those areas command, this would be a good choice. Also importantly they were following all covid procedures. I hope my review is helpful to you.

    late decision booking

We stayed in the area for 2 nights and visited Blenheim Palace and it poured with rain all day so decided to go again next day rather than go home. Found this accom and booked the night before. We checked in around 17:30 and had a downstairs corner room (don't think there were many in that night) Room great and a good size with comfy seats and table large bed and en-suite with bath - Great nights sleep. We ate dinner in the bar and it was good although they are working off a limited menu it was honest food at reasonable prices. The breakfast needed to be pre ordered the night before but was excellent and plentiful. Just what we were looking for - recommended

    Great overnight stay

The room was large and had a table and two chairs, plus a large bed. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was nice, but some had been upgraded as our daughter had a room next door and the bathroom was much nicer. However it was clean and tidy. We booked Dinner in the restaurant and this was HUGE! Very good value for money! The breakfast was also lovely and our fussy daughter was very well catered for. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    A very comfortable stay

We stayed at Sturdys Castle in December and had a very comfortable stay. We were met at check in by the very friendly receptionist and check in was very smooth. We booked our breakfast time and we even had our room upgraded. The room was large and spacious with a pleasant sitting area by the tv. It was a cold day out but lovely and warm and cosy in the room. We had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious and breakfast the following morning. All the staff were really friendly and we had a very relaxing stay. We used the hotel as a base to see the Blenheim Palace Christmas lights as it was only a 5 minute drive away so it was the perfect location. We would definitely stay again next year.
