  Frente al lago

  Buen hotel,mi habitación frente al lago, en el otoño una vista increíble de arboleda colorida reflejándose en el agua. Limpio, personal atento. Para cenar la opción es el Ox Head tavenr a metros del hotel.

  Look for other places to stay

  We stayed here in July of 2020 and thought this place was awful. The air quality was terrible in the room so bad in fact that I was concerned for my health breathing it in. The rug could have well been from the original Sturbridge village back in 1830. The dogs in the room next to us barked well into the late night. I wondered if the ceiling had mold growing on it from the blackish marks. The warm water in the shower went cold about three minutes into shower (twice). The chairs on the porch outside had ashes on them and there were cigarette butts all over the ground. The smell of smoke, in supposedly non smoking building, is obvious. The pond is beautiful and a nice place to sit but there is a lot of duck poop near the benches and on the grounds if you walk around . It was truly disgusting. The place has so much potential but it feels neglected of upkeep and care. I will definitely check reviews before I book another hotel and I would definitely not stay here again. I give it a one for the pond.

  disappointed

  I have lived in the area most of my life. I have attended several weddings here in the past 20 years. I stayed here 2 nights in August 2020 due to a power outage. I am sad to say that the hotel is in need of updating & repair. Customer service is lacking terribly. Housekeeping never came to my room. I understand Covid and lack of staffing (the excuse i was given). They charged me full price, so if you can't provide the services fully, why charge full price? The Oxhead Tavern was awful as well! The only upside is the lake but that is about all they have to offer.

  Enjoyed my room and amenities

  Overall, the property is still "run down" looking in some of the public areas but it seems like some of the rooms are being re-modeled or updated and that was why I posted the "very good" rating. This was my 3rd stay here and my room was large with a huge desk, sofa/seating area. The previous two times I stayed here, my rooms were always large, clean and comfortable. The pool is unique, with shallow areas that range from 3-5 feet. The beautiful lake+benches outside make for a great place to have a morning coffee or a glass of wine in early evening. The wifi is excellent and I needed that for work.

  Thanksgiving on the Lake

  Decided to spend the Thanksgiving weekend at the Host. We are locals but needed a change of pace for the holiday. Checked in on Wed. evening and stayed till Sunday morning with our dog. It was wonderful, the hotel was very quiet during this covid time but still a great choice for our needs. We had a room on the first floor with sliding glass doors to the lake. This was great for the dog and us. The pool was open and we enjoyed it immensely though it could have been a bit warmer. The hotel is still a shadow of what it once was but the new ownership is trying and I have to compliment them. I was told the VIP lounge/restaurant is undergoing a rehab and I look forward to it's reopening. If you can deal with the the fact repairs and upgrades are underway then you will enjoy a stay here if a quiet getaway is your goal. We plan to do it again for the Christmas/New Year holiday, it did make it seem special despite the covid restrictions on all of us.
