  Second Review for a warm welcoming place to stay

  A special thanks to Clare for firstly creating such beautiful studios/en suite rooms, and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Secondly for providing my son with a room that he could be self sufficient in, comfortable and safe whilst on placement at the local hospital. My son stayed at the studios for nearly 16 weeks from January to September and loved being there. The rooms were spotless, modern, bright and with a small modern kitchen area he could cook his evening meals, well warm up a ready meal ! They had all the comforts of home, plenty of wardrobe space, table and chairs, large bed, tv and modern bathroom. Clare was always on hand to sort out or help with anything needed and always goes above and beyond. Would I recommend this as a place to stay - a very big YES from what my son has said and photos of the rooms he has shown me - a bit envious of my son as I would love to stay there Thank you Clare for looking after my son whilst he stayed with you and the kindness you showed him, he was touched by the leaving gifts oh and I recommend the Glenthorne Valleys Honey

  What a find!!!

  Amazing stay. I never write reviews but Claire and Dave made us feel so welcome. Rooms beautiful and clean, showers amazing. Can't sing its praises enough. Claire even gave us a lift into town. What a star! James.

  Family and friends getaway.

  What a fantastic place! The rooms are all very well done, you could not ask for more. We stayed there with our friends for two nights using 4 of the rooms. Everyone was very comfortable and relaxed the hosts Dave and Claire did a great job at making us all feel very welcome and relaxed even with our children. We will definitely recommend and be back again with more friends (this year hopefully)

  Fantastic Stay

  Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The rooms are all very well done with everything you need, we have a 7 month old baby so it was fantastic to have our own kitchen facilities to prepare things for the baby, plenty of room for a travel cot and everything you need is all provided. We stayed there with friends for two nights, everyone was very happy and comfortable and so relaxed the hosts. Both Dave and Claire did a great job at making us all feel very welcome and made us feel at home even with our children. Would definitely recommend to anyone who'd like to visit Wales, it's in a perfect location with plenty of things to do for families close by and plenty of places to eat.

  Outstanding property and service, Quality in every aspect

  We are so glad that we chose to stay at Studios at Glenthorne for our recent weekend across and exploring the Brecon Beacons. Outstanding and quality are the first two words that come to mind describing our stay and the overall experience and were evident in every aspect. Claire provides studio rooms that are of the highest quality in every way. Spotlessly clean, spacious, fully equipped and every last detail thought of - as you enjoy your stay, you keep finding things that Claire has thought about and included. All fittings and fixtures were like new, super comfortable bed, modern kitchen and bathroom, plenty of hot water. Then add in freshly made Welsh Cakes (the best we tasted in Wales), vase with fresh flowers, water and milk, high quality toiletries, luxury linen and towels, USB charging power points, plenty of mirrors, great heating and ventilation, washer/dryer, simple but effective approach to recycling and waste - all complemented by fantastic communication (both pre-stay, on day of arrival and throughout) and the warmest of Welsh welcomes. We were travelling with bikes and Claire provided a great solution to make sure that they were stored safely - if travelling with bikes, we recommend getting in touch with Claire in advance. As others have noted, there is no parking directly on site, but ample in the adjacent street(s), so this should not be a factor in deciding to stay or not. Location wise, we were in the heart of the Brecon Beacons within 15 minutes drive, and managed an amazing 4 hour/70km cycle starting and finishing at Glenthorne. Some supermarkets are a short drive away as well. We cannot recommend Studios at Glenthorne highly enough. We very much want to return and suggest if you are looking for a location in Merthyr Tydfil for exploring the Brecon Beacons, that you look no further. And get in contact direct with Claire for the best available rates, a personal approach and to support a local small business directly. Thanks so much Claire.
