    Hotel not too good

There were 9 of us The carpet was filthy. The food was terrible the first night I had fish but had trouble finding the fish the batter was awful. I should have sent it back but because it was our first night didnt bother but, the food wasnt great the whole weekend. The breakfast was ok. Most of the rooms we had all had a problem with the toilets not flushing when we flushed no cold water. Two had to come downstairs every time she needed to go.No entertainment.he said it wasnt worth his while putting it on for about a dozen people but he only had a dozen people was others were going out because he didnt have entertainment and as all our company were pensioners we stay in as you cant ask people in there 80s to walk the streets as a matter of fact the oldest lady was 90. So hotel not good if you are going for the entertainment and flushing toilets and good food. The good thing about hotel were some of the staff the waiter barman Stephen was excellent and a woman named Jackie were good as one of our company took a turn and they had to get ambulance Jackie looked after her and Stephen checked on her throughout the night and to give the owner his dew he handed out his phone number if they needed to get in touch if the lady needed anything in the night fortunately she was fine the next day, its just a pity there was a problem although he did try with the toilets but they shouldnt have been a problem in the first place. So although the staff were really good I will not be back

    Arty,Jeanette and Glenn

So sorry to hear that the Stretton is closed indefenately.we stayed here twice and on both occasions the staff couldnt do enough to provide Glenn who has special needs, with everything he needed. This meant everything 2 us.Indeed we found the whole 8 night stay very relaxing and a very friendly atmosphere. We wish all the staff and Andrew and Michelle all the best for the future.

    Squalid hotel with rude manager!

The hotel was an absolute wreck, tape holding down carpets and wallpaper ripped and just generally in a disgusting state of repair. The worst part was though that there was no running cold water - so we couldn't shower, use the sink or worst of all flush the toilets! The younger members of staff did the best they could- but it was what it was and there was nothing they could do really. The manageress was utterly rude though when we complained. I'm glad to read that it has closed down - it absolutely needed too.

    Not even open!!

Cant really review the hotel to say what its like to stay as when our group of 15 turned up for our stay we were met by a sign in the door saying closed! No email/calls nothing! My partner who booked it all had spoken to a lady, the manager I think, just 2 weeks earlier to check everything was ok and ask about decorating one of the rooms as it was someones birthday. Absolutely appalling.

    Nightmare no hotel

On Tuesday 22nd October we turned up to our booked hotel to find out it had been shut down. No one had emailed me or called me to say that the hotel had ceased trading. We had the stress of finding somewhere to stay after driving 300 miles with 2 cars. Please read my next TripAdvisor for to Grand Metropole Hotel It's called the shining
