Good location on the Ostsee coastStayed here at Easter time with young family as part of break to the Ostsee/ Baltic sea. Spacious self catering apartment with large bedroom (with balcony) and separate living room. Modern new looking furniture (ikea?) with basic cooking equipment with microwave and dishwasher. Comfortable bed, the sofa bed was also rated as comfy by our 7 year old. A good sign indeed ! Great location, only a couple of kilometres outside Warnemunde. Facilities are good, with smallish swimming pool - note you have to pay extra for towels for pool area - slightly disappointed in that! There is also a sauna and spa in house. My wife and I both had a massage which was very relaxing and good value for money. You can have breakfast in the hotel but apart from that there are no other food - or drinking options in the hotel. There is free off street parking and there is a kids play area too! There are no food shopping facilities nearby however there will be an Edeka opening this year on site. We ate in the local hotel/pub, the Ostseetraum, across the road, about 200 metres away - friendly staff with a good selection of seafood on the menu. A good hotel, with good facilities in a good location and good value for money. Its an easy walk from hotel to the beach through wooded area. Lovely beach, with white sand stretching for quite a distance in east and west directions. We walked the beach route to Warnemunde and spent an easy afternoon doing this with two kids, with a few beer stops on the way! Warnemunde is a nice small village based around the beach, lighthouse and harbour. It was good to get traditional British fish and chips with tempura style prawns in the harbour area. We also watched a glorious sunset whilst sipping cocktails in Schusters beside the lighthouse. The hotel is easily reached by bus from Warnemunde, which makes it easy to get into town without using you car.

Depends what you are looking for...The hotel sells peace, serenity and relaxation. It does extremely well on that count. The hotel is quiet. There are horses and pigs in the back. Within ten minutes walk of the Baltic (not the main beach). There is a pool and sauna, and spa services (that we did not use) There is a glorified grocery store at the hotel. Great place if you are going to do some cycling. The room itself was nice and big, with a small patio. The basic cooking ware to cook a meal is in the room, though no salt and pepper, or sugar or anything of the kind. I had to buy coffee filters. Peace and serenity has a price, which is you are pretty far from Warnemünde. Cycling is the best way to get around. You are too far to walk to the main beach (40-60 minutes depending on how fast you walk). Taking the car is not a good option, since there is lots of traffic and you will need to park pretty far anyway. The city bus, we found, is not all that reliable. We went to the harbour one night and had a bit of a problem coming back, no more city buses and it took us some time to find a taxi. No daily cleaning, and the maids seem surprised when we asked them to take the garbage from our room. No cleaning fee, however, at the end (like I expected), which was nice... Warnemünde was fantastic and it is worth a visit. Whether you stay at Strandhafer depends on what you are after...

Calm and isolatedWe booked this hotel via Hotel.com,because we read that the hotel allowed pets. But the information on Hotel.com was misleading because they didnt inform us that the pets were allowed only in the big apartments. By the moment of the check-in we paid 12 euros per day for our small dog. The apartment was clean but with sloped walls where we constantly bumped into it with our heads which is unavoidable in the small kitchen area. The staff isnt very friendly and cooperating, and dont expect them to understand english. I forgot my ring in the safe and when I called and mailed to inform them that I lost it they jumped to the conclusion that its my fault and that I lost it somewhere else instead of trying to help and double check the room. The hotel is isolated from the city and there arent any activities or restaurants nearby. It might be okay in the summertime since its near the beach but its very depressing during the winter period, especially during festivities. I wouldnt recommend this aparthotel to young people or middle aged people. I would recommend the aparthotel for the elderly who wish to have a silent and calm vacation.

Clean and Spacious Rooms, Great Sauna / SpaWe just returned to Berlin from a long four day family weekend at the Ostsee. While it is October, I was a little apprehensive about going to the sea when it is cold and windy. I had it in my mind that the area would be desolate, grey, and cold. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was. While the hotel is not directly in Warnemünder, it is only about 2 km away from the charming seaside town. Upon entering the room, I found it to be more of a small apartment. It had an extra bedroom, kitchenette, and large bathroom and it was very clean and modern. While we could have brought our own breakfast items, we chose to pay a little extra for the hotel breakfast which is typically German but had many selections and was very good. Every morning the server asked how we slept and she made us a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg. The hotel is about 500m from the beach but it is a lovely walk and there is a nice outdoor bar near the edge of the forest. In October the wind is very cold so we only spent a small amount of time at the beach until we retreated to the spa/saunas. I spent a few hours relaxing in and out of the sauna and my family all booked massages which were reasonably priced. Over all, I would definitely stay here again. It was a perfect long weekend and only two hours drive from Berlin.
