  Bare

  Visited mid August 2006. Rooms are very bare and quite small. The hotel has a restaurant located on the 3rd floor which is quite good and attracts quite a few locals, although is fairly expensive like most of Norway. The hotel is centrally located and good for all local amenities.

  No choice

  We passed 2 nights there, the room was very tiny and the TV didn't work! The buffet breakfast was not so good and our dinner expansive and not good. To finish, the staff was very slow. The only good point was the central location just in front of the Bus terminal and we had a view on the "harbor".

  Basic and tired

  We were originally booked at Sortland Hotel, who transferred us to here as it closed for Easter (the week before Easter????). We were given the keys for front door and room and on arrival we realised we were alone, no staff, no new towels each day, no guests, noone.....wierd. On the plus side they had upgraded us to the room with a balcony and view. The rooms was quite spacious and although very basic they were clean. The bathroom was worn, shower soaked everywhere and there was a strange gap at the back of the bath, no idea. No staff meant no breakfast, maid service, anything. Sortland the land of pizza and kebabs why oh why were there so many, also between 10-5 there is nothing, people, food bars, etc. We used this as a base to explore Eidet, Andenes, etc a good central point but for anything else, forget it. The main bonus on its side was on a nice day the view from the balcony was lovely. :-)

  Depressing

  Had a pitstop in Sortland in one of my work travels. Sortland hotel looked really good on their webpage. So I called in to book a room and was told they were full but they had a room in this extra hotell. I thought ok, thats no problem. During checkin they told me where this extra hotel was located but the breakfast was in the main building. That's weird but ok. So I went down to this place and oh my. It was so depressing. Not your typical hotel. Looked like an old school or something. Got into the room and it was old and unclean. So I checked out of this hotel an drove to Stokmarknes.
