  Perfect for overnight stay

  Motel and location just what we wanted. Was able to re-visit the Strand and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Excellent service, very clean. Reception was so helpful and accommodating. We were able to leave our luggage at the motel before check-in time and after check-out time which was so great. Cafe breakfast was thoroughly enjoyable. Good food and good value. Had stayed at the motel when it was new over 50 years ago. My return visit did not disappoint. So special. Thoroughly recommend.

  Great Location on the Strand

  This motel is in a great location, its an older style motel that is clean and comfortable.The building is old and could do with an upgrade, the room was a little on the small size, however it was clean and serviced every day. The bathroom was clean but dated, however the little kitchenette that was in the room was good with a toaster and microwave, Alec at reception was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The cafe in front of the motel is very good and you can have breakfast and lunch there overlooking the water. This is a good budget place to stay, and is close to restaurants and hotels.

  5 Star Cleanliness.

  Dont let the old Dated building deceive you, The rooms are tasteful renovated and very clean. Weve stayed here for the last 5 years for the reasons listed below. This isnt a 5 star motel but it has 5 star cleanliness, the rates are very responsible with plenty of parking for large vehicles, you have a shopping mall a block over and your on the Strand. You can park the car and not need it for the duration of your stay. You are a 15 minute stroll from the ferry and water park at one end or the sea pool at the other. Within that 15 minutes you have pubs, restaurants and eateries. The taxi rank is literally a stones throw from the motel and public transport across the road. Singles, couples, families on a budget this is the place to stay. And you have the cafe for breakfast at your front door...bonus!

  Excellent value and great spot

  My husband and I have just had the pleasure of staying at this well priced motel. We luckily scored the front room, #17. The room was very clean and contained everything we needed. It is well located on The Strand within walking distance of Queens Park Botanic Gardens and many restaurants and eateries. There is a cafe below which serves a great breakfast and good coffee. I would definitely recommend this accommodation, and will certainly stay again when next in Townsville.

  Great Location to the Strand and Restaurants

  The Strand Motel has lovely clean and tidy rooms and great location in walking distance to all the Strand has to offer - easy booking and departing. Large fridge, hot showers and roomy clean amenities we would definitely stay again when travelling on a budget, also close to supermarkets and bottle shops.
