  Cracking hotel and top food

  We stayed in one of the suites for one night with a dinner bed and breakfast offer. Good was amazing, couldnt fault it. Staff were lovely. We had the pool to ourselves when we got there (arrived at 6ish). Will definitely stay here again.

  Excellent choice for short break in the Lake District.

  From the initial booking to check out this was a very enjoyable experience. The original intention of a week in Scotland meeting old friends to celebrate a milestone birthday were cancelled by COVID19 restrictions so a quick alternative was needed. Having seen an advert for a 3 for 2 nights break offer from Best Western we decided a short trip to the Lake District would suit as it was equidistant from me in Gloucestershire and my friends in Fife. We were made very welcome by all the staff. The rooms were very comfortable with good bathrooms and beds. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts each morning as well as a very good dinner on the first night. Sadly we didn't get the opportunity to use the leisure facilities as we did not find the time. Ample car parking and easy access to Windermere etc suited us very well. The COVID19 precautions were first class without being too obtrusive. Overall great value for money. Thanks for a great stay and we will certainly return next time we are in the area.

  Lovely stay

  What a lovely stay we had, stayed through December for 2 nights. Great place very clean and friendly staff. Really appreciate the staff showing great values for social distancing and safety. Lovely room we had- mazzive bed and lovely showe! rooms are not double glazed but not an issue because not much traffic, pool was ok, little cold but you dont want long in there anyway. We sat and had a drink in the lounge an was just nice and relaxing with music and the fake fire on, Breakfast was lovely too. Would stay again lovely close to Kendal, would recommend visiting Windermere too stunning place. Thanks for the stay and hVe a lovely Christmas x

  Regular stay for work

  Stayed regularly at the Stonecross for work and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Great breakfast and think it is the best hotel in Kendal. Will definitely stay here again in the future.....

  Fork this hotel!

  I stayed at this property during Covid lockdown. After returning with takeaway, I realized there was no utensils in the bag. I asked reception if I could use a fork from their kitchen. Helen, the manager refused to allow me to use a fork as "they would get fined £10,000 for violating covid policy. " To avoid eating with my fingers, I had to order something off their room service menu in order to obtain a fork. Fined for lending a fork. Come on. You must eat in your room, so at least be reasonable. Didn't see reasonable at Stone Cross Manor.
