Oh boyLook it's an older place and God knows it must be a pain to comply with all of the anti business California regulations... But I don't know what it is about hotels in the area and not having air conditioning but this time of year it's really unbearable... I know I know, you don't need them for 70% of the year but cmon, it's 85 degrees outside, we didn't get to sleep until 1am... Every single power outlet was from the 1930s or something.. Dude home depot outlets are 0.90. Also there was an ant problem and the shower was very touchy; scalding and then freezing. My feet were black from walking on the filthy carpet.. Might be a little better in the winter but man it wasn't that big a step up from staying in a tent... Its 2018, the bar has been raised...

A disgusting nightmare!Fortunately me and my boyfriend spent here only one night....150$ for a dirty-p**p toilet?! Really? 120 euros for sleep in a bed unchanged after other guests? No, It's not possible. Entire room was dirty, dusty and other things that make this motel perfect for a horror movie. But, if you're searching new adventures... maybe hunter fleas, enjoy your stay!

Do not stay hereI know its old but this place is a dump. Rude staff as well. Toilet had dried blood or something on the seat. Just gross. When we went to office about toilet he got pretty irrate. He went to check the room and then called us liars and told us to go and that he would refund us, which he did. Wish we would have taken a picture. The place is just too old and in desperate need of renovations

Worked out fineStayed here for 3 nights to go hiking and biking. From the price you pay, I didn't expect anything more in terms of cleanliness. No stains or hair on the sheets or towels. Toilet, shower, microwave, and fridge all worked fine. On the last day, I noticed that there was a huge gap in the window screen. I never got any mosquito bites after sleeping with the window wide open. They do do cleaning, so if you want to opt out of it, make sure you get/use the do-not-disturb sign. I didn't have one in my room, so they went and made my bed, which I did not want because I spent time wiping, cleaning, and organizing it the way I wanted it to prevent any Corona contamination. The maid placed my personal pillow right on the couch, which is pretty gross. I'd stay here again because of the pricing and location. Can't complain Oh, the wifi and cable are spotty. Some channels won't load

Clean, Old-Fashioned "Ski Motel"KIngs Beach has several older "Ski Motels" that provide basic accommodations. Though I was there during shoulder season for hiking and mountain biking, Stevenson's holds its own for basic accommodations. It's an older property with worn furniture. Though the rooms have mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffee makers. The pool and recreation room are currently closed during COVID, but the beach is a 10 minute walk. And there's a very good hamburger place next door. And they have Adirondack chairs outside each room, just like the old-school motor inns. Staff is very helpful - they even called shortly after arrival to ensure everything was okay. My room had a couple of quirks with where to plug in the mini-fridge and how to turn on the outlet with the microwave, but the staff helped me figure it out. They weren't offering a full housekeeping service late September 2020, but they stopped by to offer fresh towels / coffee / cups / soap. A lot of reviews mention room cleanliness, but I had no issues with my room. So it's far from a destination resort, but it's a reasonable no-frills place to stay if you plan to spend most of your North Shore time visiting the numerous outdoor attractions.
