Great breakfastWe never got to meet the owner as he apparently had a motorcycle accident and was in hospital. I hope he recovers. Anyway, the room was good, the service was friendly and good. The breakfast was excellent. It is somewhat out of the way and kind of hard to find.

Told me cancellation was no problem then refused to refund my moneyI cannot say that the resort itself is unpleasant; I did not actually wind up staying there, but I was treated so poorly after being told I it was not a problem to cancel my reservation (having made the reservation based on misleading information) that I thought I should let other travelers know. I booked this hotel because we specifically wanted to stay on the beach, and a TripAdvisor link on the Stella Resort page that said "photos of pool and beach," led to photos of a lovely beach. Upon calling to confirm two nights before our scheduled arrival, I was told the resort was not only NOT on a beach, but was 3 kilometers away, and that we would either have to rent a scooter from the resort, or call a taxi to take us each way at our own expense. I expressed disappointment and asked if it would be possible to cancel because being on the beach was the ENTIRE reason we'd booked, and the representative said she believed so, but that I should contact the owner. The owner was surly but said it was not a problem to cancel and that he would make a note of it. When I received no refund I emailed and received a reply saying that no refund would be forthcoming because I'd have had to have called 7 days in advance. He did not deny having told me specifically on the phone that I could cancel, but said he'd only meant "it is your prerogative to stay wherever you want. Stella Resort is not a prison, and we cannot force you to stay." Obviously I'd asked the question in order to find out if I could cancel without being charged, and if he'd been truthful I would have gone through with the reservation rather than pay the full amount for the days of the room without staying there, even though I would of course have resented the misleading photos that got us there. Because at the time I had no reason to believe that the Stella Resort owner's assurance that I could cancel was false, I wound up paying two different hotels for the same nights. I can't be too sorry for the way things turned out though -- we did find a FABULOUS small hotel near the beach with WONDERFUL proprietors and had a magical few days in the area (the Long Beach Resort which I'd 100% recommend for location, food, cleanliness, charm and friendly helpful staff!!!) -- but in my personal view I feel that the money the Stella Resort collected from me was stolen and other travelers should know about this unethical behavior on the part of the owner.

Lovely place to visit Sam Roi Yot and KuiBuri NationalparkWe stayed here for one night to visit the above mentioned National Parks the next day. Positive: We arrived at 8pm and were the only guests. The owner was very nice and the room looked good. The whole place was in a very good shape. Also we had the chance to get dinner although it was 2 hours after closing time of the restaurant. +1 for the Service! Prices were very reasonable and it tasted good! (They also serve ice-cold beer, which was a pleasure after a long day) The breakfast was freshly prepared for us and was like shown on the pictures on this website. We decided to take the very delicious banana chips out of the room for 35THB each. The location of this hotel is very good, you are near the Sam Roi Yot Park in just a few minutes by car. Negative: Not much to say, we didn't find out why we were the only guests. This place has a lot to offer!

Secluded oasis settingWe stayed for one night at Stella Resort. We were the only guests there and the owner (or staff?) was very kind and friendly. Our room decor was quite dated, however it was very clean and everything was in working order. Bed sheets were yellow satin like material. White cotton sheets would be a good improvement for a small resort like this. We really enjoyed the small pool area and beautiful gardens. There are no stores or restaurants nearby, however there is a 7Eleven in the town you go through approaching the resort.
