    Stayed...

    Stayed here with 2 of the girls. I wouldnt recommend as a girls holiday as theres a lot of older people and the staff didnt like a lot of noise, as the guests were of course older. Lovely room and pool area.. Very local to everything. Would deffo keep expensive belongings safe, as I had lost my ray-bans which I left in room before departing the room but was told they was no where to be found.... Apart from that cant knock the stay

    Dated, basic and unclean room. Told the hotel first night that my child had a severe nut allergy yet dinner had nuts.

    I paid for half board. I told the owner the first night that my youngest child had a severe nut & sesame allergy yet salads were sprinkled with sesame and Nutella loaded on sweet plate for the family to share. The third time I highlighted this to the owner he became really defensive, rude and insulting. I would NEVER advise anyone to stay here. I had booked this holiday as part of a package with Love Holidays as our previous holiday to Spain was cancelled due to the pandemic, it was NOT cheap (£2200+ for one adult & 2 children) at all and the photos of the rooms etc on this website are not realistic. The owner parades around like a king and treats the guests with contempt and arrogance along with his friends and family. He is so rude. I told the receptionist about my grievances on the last day and she retorted that then I should have called my tour operator in the UK and change hotels, I explained that it would have been difficult as they were only contactable by Live Chat due to the Pandemic and the waiting time was over an hour, furthermore its not difficult to just omit nuts from the dishes, so just dont add sesame seeds to salad and stop covering the sweets with Nutella. She was also quite defensive and argumentative and stated the sweets were allegedly not for my child, this was not true as it was one plate to share. The last time they did it the owner was drunk and had told the waitress (who could not understand English) to put a plate of plane fruit in front of my youngest child, meaning she could not have the waffle / ice-cream and banana as it was covered with Nutella, so apparently thats fine, shes ELEVEN ..!!! The receptionist also said that we could have switched rooms as ours was so awful, funny she never mentioned this the first three days when I complained about the rooms and the awful, worn and uncomfortable mattresses! Finally, air con cost an extra £100 for the stay and they had no fans. I could have dealt with the room, but it was the horrendous customer service and almost killing my child that I couldnt deal with night after night! I even showed the owner the Epipen, he just brushed me off as he was drinking with his pals. We ended up NOT eating there for quite a few nights, and a few breakfasts too. If we did have dinner then just left most of it as we were also given no choice for dinner, and never asked if we ate certain meats etc...meaning we couldnt just choose off the menu. We basically had to eat whatever was given to us. The waitress and the cook were nice, pleasant people who were trying their best. Disgusting.

    A smile doesn`t cost anything, awful hosts

    What a lovely place, what an awfull hosts. We were the first guests of the season. No breakfast buffet, understandable considering covid-19, but 12 days the same breakfast: feta, tomato, cucumber, ham and every now and then an egg... the Greec kitchen is more than that. We would have gone for a lunch or a dinner but because a smile was too much to ask, no thankyou. To the owners you cut yourself by acting like you did, i`ll stay polite...You could have asked for special wishes for breakfast, indeed it wasn`t that busy... yes and we paid for breakfast, it was not a `gift`. You should have been grateful to have us as your guests, cause after a difficult time, we were the ones that made you make money. We paid quite a bit to our standards but apparently not to yours. When we complained about the hot water, nothing was done about it. When we left and paid 70 for the airco it had to be cash, cause the machine for the cards was broken, no it wan`t, you just didn`t want to pay taxes on it! When we said the room didn`t have to be cleaned every day as we didn` t stay in it all day, every other day was fine. You accepted it, but the rooms weren`t cleaned properly every other day, even that was asked too much! You could have done something about the price of the airco instead, but money money money.... not ever again!

    Rude Staff

    I have never written a bad review before in my life but this HAS to be done. My boyfriend and I came here for a quiet romantic holiday after our previous holiday had been cancelled due to Covid-19. Firstly, Id like to say that the pool and location was fine. However, we are extremely unhappy with the way we have been treated by the staff. We had no welcome when we arrived. We arrived at 1am as our flight was late. We struggled entering the hotel as it was pitch black and there was no clear sign for entry. We walked in, and there was a sign on the door telling us where to go. As we got to our room, the door was left open so our room was filled with mosquitoes. Also, we had no air conditioning for the night. We woke up the next morning and unpacked our luggage and then we were told we were put in the wrong room and we had to move immediately. So we had to pack up all of our stuff and move it to the new room (which was actually nicer). But we had no apologies for this inconvenience. However, we were then told we had to pay 50 for air conditioning for the week which really blew our budget! We needed this air conditioning as our room was so hot the night before without it. I had zero greetings from any staff members and I almost feel uncomfortable asking them questions. Also, there were no do not disturb signs for the doors so the cleaners walked in whenever they wanted. They even walked in on my boyfriend in the shower! We also went into our room one night and there was a live cockroach scuttling around our room and a dead one under our bed! Then 2 nights later, we found another HUGE one on our wall. I left my boyfriend to keep an eye on it and I went to speak to the manager and he ended up squaring up to me very aggressively (to a 21 year old girl) and said so what do you want be to do about it?. And when I asked him to politely remove it and put some bug spray down, he walked off and tutted and took a good 5 minutes to work up to picking up a broom stick and helping me with it. My boyfriend finally caught it and when the manager saw me crying and shaking, he laughed in my face. This fully grown man made me cry my eyes out because he was so horrible to me. I cant comprehend this! The only time I had decent customer service, was the chef who gave me & my boyfriend free coffee & cake. He was pleasant but everyone else were downright rude! Constant glares, tuts and eye roles. On the last day, we checked out and got no goodbyes or have a safe journey. We just left without anything! I know we didnt pay much, but we at least expect cleanliness and polite staffing with a 3.5 star hotel. Extremely disappointed.

    Helpful staff, nice vibe

    Came out to Malia as our daughter was taken ill and hospitalised early in her holiday. The staff at the hotel were very helpful to us allowing us to change our plans, we were very grateful for that. The hotel is quiet and pool area laid back. The food in the evening was really good and good value. If I came back to Maila this is the place I would stay at .
